Uh, that's already the case? I mean not practically speaking of course, any kid who is resourceful enough will get his hands on it (I sure as hell did back then).
Hell there's non-eroge titles with graphic sex in them too, Witcher 2 comes to mind. Obviously these are fewer in number. But The Witcher 2 is probably a lot easier to get a hold of in the US, as it's also a 360 title.

That's why game makers usually port the games over to console if the ero version is popular enough

I'm concern for the general consumers. Adding ero in visual novels except for Eroge is not good whether the erotic fandom wishes it. Eros are for Eroges. Keep the usual visual novels sex free.

Yes, many games that qualify as a VN have an all ages version, so it shouldn't be hard especially for really popular ones. In fact, if you're actually purchasing it, you would have to go out of your way to find the adult version.

I went with Nay.
Of the VNs I have played, the sex was not necessary. Throw in how the author sometimes can't write an ero scene for his/her life and I rest my case. Now.. if it's a nukige and the artist is god-tier (see Tony Taka) then of course it's okay.

Agree. Like what I'm saying, if you want romance with sex, play Eroges. It doesn't necessarily mean that when its Eroge, its crap already. The Visual Novels I played that aren't Eroges were written so well that sex was not even needed.

Well at this point you're really cutting to the definition of what's what. Many Eroge are VNs and a lot of VNs happen to have adult material. Then wouldn't those VNs be Eroge? If you're playing it for the story (and why wouldn't you) that's cool, but you should just look at the rating of what you're getting instead of complaining after the fact. These days there are those that are either all ages rated or have the option to turn off adult scenes.

I don't see a "it depends on the story line and content" choice. If the story needs it to advance the plot or important things happen during the ero-scenes then yes, it should be there. If it is just a "you winz!!! Take her!!!", then it can be snipped as far as I care.

Plenty of people liked it without the scenes for that game. Though I think there might have been at least a couple routes in there in which it added to the story. Only what I've heard though, I haven't played it.
I've played only so many but I've found that when it does add to the story, the scene is not too long or at least there's some inserted dialogue that reveals something about either events or the characters that you might not hear in another context.
