I like how this (translated) chapter answers a lot of things about Ichiko's parents: they didn't leave her alone because they WANTED to. As her father reveals (he even admits how scary it is), both he and his wife experienced a NEVERENDING stream of good luck (starting from the moment of Ichiko's birth), to the point where regardless of what they wanted, they never got to be with Ichiko anymore.
