That was never allowed in any game. Grinding from scratch is the whole point, and anyway they change the game system each game so you can't really transfer them like that.

each game had different main characters. This is a continuation, should really give people both choice.

Continuation from Disgaea 1? I am not sure there is a way to do it even if they want to since it was a PS2 game, and that PS3 is not backward compatible. Seriously, the character creation system is all different now.

If you want to hack your stats then do so. Transfering stats is pointless as grinding IS the game.

There also appear to be a massive amount of extra control on building the generic soldiers. You can actually give them any colour scheme you like now. And when you level them up you can pick and choose their stats/skills.

We can pick their color too back in D3/D4.. but maybe this game will let us pick their color scheme from the start instead of using post game item world like previous games.

In customising your generics, you pick a "Personality" for them. This changes their tone of voice when speaking, but also gives them special abilities depending on their job class. Male monks with "Lively personality", for example, grants a 20% Defence and Resistance buff as well when they cast healing spells on someone. Another type of personality allows a female blackmage to burn her own HP as MP when her MP runs out.

Unique buffs for each personality? Now this is pretty interesting

Oh yeah Etna, you definitely looks like 2p chara It's pretty funny to see Laharl has bigger boobs than Etna and Flonne too It's kinda delicious too seeing his (her?) sprite look after changing to laharl-chan.

Thieves are better at stealing equipment from enemy characters than other classes.
