Redaction of the Golden Witch - Part 2

The Fragment of uncertain origin continues, a tale of October 4th spins to its conclusion with the promises of a new day. But here, this divergent Forgery takes an even stranger turn, and tragedies strike more quickly than expected.

The next playlist, in six parts again.

In making you're game, do you have to paste the folder to the Umineko8 folder to get the breakup whirl and all the other effects?

You will probably atleast need the relevant DLL files in the same folder. Looking in the Umineko 8 folder, I see 'breakup.dll,' 'whirl.dll,' as well as a bunch of other that I am now curious about and might have to go experiment with :x

I thought the transition effects were the black and white gradients in the /efe/ folders. There may be .dlls necessary to get the engine to display them properly though.

I seriously need to stop spriting guns into people's hands.
Spoiler for A Typical Date Night in the Catbox:
If only I had the skills to give them to Maria and Erika. Some of Erika's expressions are priceless when she's one-handing a rifle. The color and poofyness of her sleeves make it difficult without more extensive editing though. Jessica would also be fairly easy if I used her right arm instead of her left, but her posture seems better for two-handing which would screw up the symbol on her left sleeve. Alas.

How do you resize images in onscripter? And do you need .bmp for sprites to work?

Most sprites are fixed-size, but it is possible to scale them using engine commands. As far as I know, however, scaling in onscripter simply resizes instead of resampling so larger sprites will look pixelated. As for what engine commands those are, you'd have to look them up or ask someone else.

The BMP format seems to be necessary for alpha channels (to create transparency), although I have heard from someone that they work as PNG.

It's true, You can use PNG as well and of course you need to point out in the script that you are using PNG and not BMP. The PNG will not work without :a;
(Example :_ld c,":a;cha\bea\bea_a14_akuwarai2.png",80)

The alpha channel simply comes from the :a; part of the code, BMP or not.

What the BMP needs is the black/white alpha mask. PNGs work with transparency in the actual picture.

One way of resizing sprites is the lsp2 command (Ryu used this), although as Renall said it'll look pixelated.

Hey guys, just here to make an announcement: I'm going to be doing an Umineko/Silent Hill crossover fic. Renall has offered to script it if I feel like it though I'm not sure how feasible that actually be so if it ends up just being text, like, oh well.

But hey, new project.

Haha, nice to see someone's eager already.

Just to elaborate on the nature of the crossover, there's not going to be like, SH characters. It's more of a "Silent Hill happens with the Umineko cast" thing, so as to not alienate people who haven't played Silent Hill; no knowledge of that series will be required for reading.

Yeah That's what I thought when you said it. Intresting concept indeed. How much of Umineko cast is going to be in it? (Writing many people can be a pain in the ass.... In Total Seacat Island I have to work with 26 characters lol , Have to be carefull that everyone gets decent amount of screentime, Well the good thing is that every next episode has less characters because of the elimination XD)

The whole human cast will be in it, though some will get more screentime than others, of course. The fic will follow the journeys of several of the major characters.

Most of the 'fantasy' characters won't have any part, or if they do, it wouldn't be as they exist in the main series. Ronove, for instance, could appear as an avatar for Genji's suppressed emotions.

Yeah, Human cast is much more intresting in a fic like that Anyway, Good luck

The more I think about it, the more surprised I become at how well I think the two could go together. SH2 is one of my favorite games; I wish more game series used the type of storytelling and narrative in them.
Anyway, your story seems like a pretty awesome idea.
Looking forward to reading it!

I only know a little bit about SH from friends and whatnot, but this sounds amazing.

Hehe, since people are so receptive, I'll try harder to get atleast a prologue or something up. I just need to find a time window inbetween work and school to get writing. Stay tuned!
