That's unlikely. It could mean (and I expect something like that) something similar when Fate entered directly into the story in Nanoha, there was a mild mood shift due to that.

I'm just saying Rei will be in need of a serious befriending, hence the need for a slight change in tone. After all, the theme of the show when originally unveiled was described as "friendship", IIRC.

Since the mood shift will happen around episode 5, does it means that Akane will first encounters Rei before capturing her after something dangerous happen ?

Well, now I know that I shouldn't expect any sound logic from this show.

The fact that Akane was instantly capable of docking with Wakaba cheapens the whole drama of episode 2. What happened to the requirement of being perfectly in sync with each other?

The Alone in this episode also felt much less threatening than the first one, just an excuse to show a battle sequence.

This is definitely a magical girl show poorly disguised as sci-fi. Dumb fun, power of friendship and loli fanservice. Oh well, I have seen worse.

My only question is if Aoi and Wakaba keep their keys or do they always need to wait until Akane transforms? Because the latter option is kinda inconvenient...

The drama in episode 2 was about Aoi actively rejecting the docking due to being afraid that Akane would find out about her lie with the tomato. Once they got past that, the docking went swimmingly. On the other hand, Wakaba has no qualms of similar sort with Akane, and thus they went off without a hitch.

The bonds forged in battle are stronger than bonds formed from tomatoes I guess

I'm just speculating, but... it could possibly be more than likely logical that some artist out there would sort of make a doujin out of that scene in episode 02, where Wakaba princess carries Momo to the infirmary but instead of talking about Akane they..... do something else

If Wakaba ever has a character shift and constantly goes after Momo, I would like to see the look on her father's face. "My warrior daughter... what has become of her?"

Mood shift... don't know about you folks, but one thing that came to mind was Dog Days season 1. Now that... that is a mood shift

Basically, it went from "nobody dies in battle!" to "Oh shhh I'm bleeding!" and then suddenly, nopan concert

So.... you know what would be a mood shift in this series? Don't blame me if it happens, but if there's no more butts after episode 05, that would be more than just a mood shift, that would be a travesty!

It did look like Wakaba was slowly turning into a Momophile by her reaction in the last few minutes.

lol... speaking of mayo, I thought that was rather interesting that she had the bottle handy. Mostly because everyone thought it was strange for me to carry around those tiny Tobasco bottles in US Army MRE's, it's comforting to know Akane carries around some mayo

I'm thinking along the same line as well Rei is most likely going to be the Fate of this series and have a similar effect as fare the mood is concerned.
