A very nice find.

I've been hearing some buzz that a season 2 might be in the works. Does that have any bearing in reality, or is that just wishful thinking from the fan-base?

I would love to have a 2nd season personally, based around the internationals coming up next year. Forcing Miho, Maho, and Erika to work together as a team might breathe some intellectual life to the stagnant Nishizumi-ryu, which has been sitting on Guderian's (Manstein's, rather) tactical/operational laurels instead of being true pioneers of their own style.

Miho is a closer disciple of the great panzer man than the Black Forest Academy is in this regard.

KV-2s have two loaders, and I believe that the main gun fires two-piece ammunition: a shell and a charge cartridge. Together, they weigh about 40kg. Of course, KV-2s don't have anywhere near the ergonomics of a modern MBT, and the rate of fire is only a couple of rounds a minute. It's still awful hard work though.

A second season only exists as a rumor, and I doubt we'll hear more about it until the last two episodes are aired. Right now, the Blu-rays are selling so well that they're still out of stock. Retailers are gearing up for the third print run, and nobody knows if that's enough to satisfy the demand. Given that sales are wildly exceeding expectations, a sequel seems like a shoo-in.

Not by the blog's estimations: given that the Ooarai carrier is 7.6 km long, anything 3 times bigger would be 22.8 km long. The St. Gloriana vessel is stated to be 13.7 km long (1.8 times longer), and the Pravda vessel is 15.3 km in length (2.01 times longer). Because of the more precise methodology used, I'm inclined to say that the '3 times' figures are probably unreliable. I apologise for bringing this up, but the numbers were bothering me somewhat

Ok, ok, I get it... fact and forgotten.

Still it's a shame because everything else seems so plausible and clearly understandable by what we see on screen. This is the single case where I wish they'd directed the action differently. If they needed to explain how some hits can fail to penetrate I wish they'd been shot by a tank with a weaker gun!

I've been hearing some news about the final episode being aired on March 23. Which... seems so very far away

And I'm still waiting on whatever clips from episode 11 they showed on the Girls Und Panzer Carnival today

I just realised - this show has a thread that's 200 pages long. Hard to imagine, 3 months ago, the kind of reaction this show would have. Truly, the sleeper hit of 2012.

I put the blame fully on all the tank nuts that came streaming in when it became known that the tank action technically had higher billing than the girls, and this wasn't simply about cute girls doing cute things.

yes and no because 80% of the people who post speaks of 'tank' and not episodes or characters from the anime, yes yes I know the tank is part of the anime

It is the test of loyalty. We must wait and prove ourselve to be the true fan

By the way, if the show didn't get this popular, I don't think they will even dare to do this at all

Also, the third OVA was annoced: Hot Spring War I wonder which team will get a spotlight this time.

I haven't got around watching the OVAs yet--knowing that the 1st one is a beach episode increases my reluctance to watch. I much prefer tankservice than fanservice.

How tank-relevant are the OVAs so far?

They managed to put in a tank reference with the swimsuit. For example: a swimsuit that a girl wear represents a tank.

Hell, they even put in the history of swimsuit
