true...maybe... still it's very much the other way , as i see it. Yuuko's remark might only indicate that the next Acchan is present in one of the two but not necessarily both of them together. In any case only future episodes will make that sure^^

also now that I think about it, I sorta don't like there being a duo center, from my perspective as an athlete/competitor. It kinda cheapens the "competitive spirit" theme they developed here. same reasoning that almost always in Finals matches in high level sports there are tie breakers. to determine the real champion. As they say in HIGHLANDER "There can only be one"

in terms of practical considerations though duo-center-nova quite hard too, remember they must be center first before being center-nova. It would be quite unbelievable ( though possible) that both Nagisa & Chieri would be number 1 & have the exact same number of votes in the next election.

oh yeah thanks, i remember now she did run away because she was afraid of disappearing, so she is indeed a center-nova.

That's a bit too convoluted and you know it. I'm not going to force my opinion on you though, so let's wait and see.

Well, there are a few AKB PVs with a double center dance formation. UZA comes to mind. Of course, that kinda thing is more usual right now because there's no fixated center after Acchan graduated, but it bears mentioning nonetheless. Oh, and if you pay attention to the the choreography in the all the new songs for the understudies (Kibō ni Tsuite, Yume wa Nando mo Umarekawaru, and Aruji naki sono Koe), they all have a double center too, with Chieri and Nagisa in that position.

Furthermore, a single Center Nova is the norm for the group. I'm all for these girl to bring something new to the table. That's why a Center Nova duo would be really cool. It would be different, unique.

No at all. It's clear S4 chooses the Center Nova regardless of the election. Furthermore, the election is a yearly event, and I'm pretty sure if S4 feels a Center Nova among the girls at a given moment, he wouldn't wait until the freaking election to announce it. And the fact that it's a yearly event also means that unless there's a time skip at some point, there won't be another election in the anime anyway.

I'm not an AKB expert, but they seemed to state that the election chose the center for A single. One single. Other centers for other songs are still chosen as normal by management as the manager sees fit. Center Nova is too important a position to be dependent on the elections.

This is true. And I want to stress the point that the election is a yearly event which means we won't see another one in the anime unless there's a time skip, and that's highly unlikely.

^ well if that's the case (as i'm not an AKB expert either) then yeah we might not be able to see another election in the anime....unless there is a time skip.

In any case we're not even sure if the AKB0048 elections(and management) are exactly patterned after AKB48. I guess we're pretty much speculating.

I still think though that it will be just a single center-nova for the points I've mentioned. Not that I'm too against a duo as I've stated above, Nagisa & Chieri are both cool after all.

I'm not speculating about this. In episode 14 Orine mentioned that when Acchan the 13th was active, there was an election every year.

So it's the same as in real life.

I actually just found myself wondering a few minutes ago if maybe there will be more than just two seasons of AKB0048. Nagisa and the others are still pretty much just newbies this far along into the series, so if this is a coming of age (or idoldom, rather) story there's a lot of ground to cover in just nine episodes. It makes me wonder if the franchise might have three or more seasons.

oh i know that , i didn't mean the yearly elections I mean using the elections to determine who sings in a single. ( releasing new songs and single seems quite rare in 0048 world, after all they're still singing Beginner, etc.).It seems to me too that the position of center in AKB0048 is more permanent nature than AKB48, and after all there is no real life Center-Nova right?....

(I might be wrong, anyone ever see a real life AKB48 member glow on stage? ahihi joke, ....hmm that would be something if they can do that )

yeah thought about that too, it would be a shame since it would feel kinda rushed if they become ultra stars almost immediately. and there's still a lot of potential i think to go forward with the story.
Problem I can see is the tie up with real life AKB48 , not just the seiyuu ( there's already talk regarding graduation of one of them IIRC) but also the story reflecting real life AKB.

There is indeed a lot of ground to cover and the possibility of season 3 or more if they would like to show how each of the girls grow. Like I said earlier, this season is all about succession to be the next Acchan. Then there is also the Center Nova and Zodiac case to be resolved in this season. The story is quite focus.

Trying to look too much on that final scene is complicated, there is way too many interpretations. For instance, you could say S4 meant Nagisa as Acchan and center nova, as he does say that right after the scene Nagisa decides she will also be there on elections one day and the goes forward.

Of course, that and all interpretations is just theories now, so I think it's better if we don't take them too serious for now before we get more information.

Why? As long as you don't try to pass your speculation as fact I don't see nothing wrong with it. Now, if you don't want to participate, that's up to you, but we will keep going at it because it's fun to speculate.

That's what I meant though, some arguments about that part are being used in arguments almost if they were facts, while it's a scene we can only make some theories about. Of course I don't think there is anything wrong on just speculation.

I think you're being a bit paranoid here. It was perfectly clear for everyone that we are speculating. The only fact I posted was that bit about the election being a yearly event, which is true.

And remember, it was recently reinstated after Acchan's disappearance. Still, I have a feeling that they might show the next elections in the epilogue.

I particularly liked cheri's breaking scene, oh how wonderfull will ti be when she is turned into mayuyu mk4. I remember a video of a similar akb48 breaking scene being posted in this topic before, pretty sure it was from the first season, so I liked the reference.

That would be pretty cool, but it's unlikely to happen. According to the BD's booklet, Mayuyu mk3's real name is Mayu Watanabe. This hints she's either the real Mayuyu, turned into a cyborg, or related to her like in the case of Tomochin. So, a mk4 version would probably be just an update of the current one or a girl from her family.

It's a reference to Yui-han.

A cartoon based on a music group of girls??

I wonder how a SNSD cartoon would turn out... hopefully keep Jessica blonde.

Kara is already there, but it's more of a kiddie toon.

Damn, how long you were under a rock? This show's been around since last year.
