That's funny. I think dogs would have a high number too, but they're more strictly contained than cats. I know my dog has killed plenty of things that happened to wander too closely to her steely gaze; chipmunks, ducks, and even some chickens that escaped from a nearby farm... whoops.

I don't like that gratuities thing. For that matter, I don't like that prices are displayed without tax. I prefer to be told upfront how much shit is going to cost.

I think we just established the pastor is simply a jackass, waving their imaginary friend around when there are legitimate gripes against auto-gratuity.

I object to auto-gratuity - the dipstick employers should just pay their damned people more then. Gratuity is like tipping good street performers. If they do a good job, you should tip them.

I suppose if they itemized the cost of fuel, the manager's salary, the electricity, property rental, the *profit* to the owners, etc, then it might be different

But from what I understand it's not. It's a significant part of the wait staff's income, even when they do a merely ok job. (I mean, they're waiters. Why should I tip them when I give them an uncomplicated order and they bring it to my table, where I eat without making a peculiar mess? Shouldn't that service be included in the wages in the first place?)

''Signifiant'' is a understatement; especialy if the consummer start ordering wine; a good waiter can, on a busy day, earn more tips than a cook will earn for the same period of time in hourly pay.
