Thus, I gave you other example like Lelouch .

Well, the Joker's just batshit insane, but Light and Lelouch had a grand plan that, in their mind, justified everything that they did. Hardly the case here. Picking on Lelouch's example.. you can't really compare the Zero Requiem to Masuzu's mean spirited pranks.

I can appreciate a good villain. But Masuzu isn't a villain. Not by a longshot.

LOL, that's the same as Masuzu. Masuzu's plan for Chiwa is also justified in her mind.

Yes...changing the world is exactly the same as what she's doing...

Light wants to put an end to all crime. And he will do anything toward that end.
Lelouch wants to destroy the Britannian Empire (and later on "save the world")...and he'll do anything for that end.
Masuzu wants the guy. And she'll be a bitch towards the other love interest to get it.

Yes. You can totally compare the scale of what those three are doing. Masuzu is clearly a villain at Light and Lelouch's level.

Then let's compare her to someone of similarly small scale. Nichijou's Mai. They both like screwing with people.

So... we agree to each other, right? Coz what you just said is kinda my point too.

In case your statement is a sarcasm, let's compare these:
- Lelouch and Yagami kills people (some are innocent) for what he thinks is right.
- Masuzu pulls some pranks on Chiwa to make her an anti-love person coz she thinks it’s right.
- Both wants to change something they consider inappropriate.

See the similarities?

All in all, it all comes down to personal preferences. If you don't (or won't) understand why people like Masuzu as a character, then fine. For me, it's too bad coz I understand her appeal as a character (not merely sexual appeal).

Holy...

[mod edit: removed meme image that said: "I give up"]

I was being sarcastic. There is no way to compare Masuzu to Light and/or Lelouch because the scale of their actions is massively different. Hence why I say she cannot be called a villain. At best, she's a bully.

Urgh, was there a need to throw in a chuuni girl in the mix? I'd much rather the chuuni setting be kept to Eita's past.

The CPR scene was just stupid on the animators part, you are supposed to pinch the nose closed otherwise none of the air you blow in will make it to the lungs.

That whole CPR scene felt so forced and ridiculous. I was almost certain Mazusu was faking it to steal another kiss because it seemed like she lost consciousness within only 4 or 5 seconds. And then the teacher suddenly has to cpr another student? Weidest coincidence ever or some setup for those two to "kiss"?
But in the following scene it really did not appear like Mazusu drowning was just an act.

This episode really pushed me away from the show. Why? Mainly the pool scene.
Eita's talk must have been a hell of a lot more convincing in Japanese than English, because I have no idea why Masuzu decided to go drown herself.
I was really put off by the guys in the class cheering when she stood up to go swim, and the way everyone just stood around when she drowned.
Eita's line about that kid indirectly causing Masuzu's death was completely unrealistic for someone with a friend dying in front of them.
Masuzu is a lot sweeter when she comes to, which is plausible given that Eita just saved her life, and then the people adapting the show decided to go directly from a Masuzu chapter to one for Chiwa, one which I felt was more powerful. While I do believe Chiwa's connection to Eita is much more powerful than his with Masuzu, I don't approve of how they're sidelining half of the show's heroines (at that point).

I sure hope you don't watch too much anime expecting perfect realism.

considering how many tv series still do the whole "bending your elbow while doing chest compression", I'll tend to let this go.

Why do I love Masuzu?

Because she's intense, gorgeous, playful, smart and funny, primarily. In an anime world where stifling KyoAni moeblobbing dominates, this alone would already qualify as sufficient to me.

At the same time, however, it's because it's obvious that she is warped. She has obviously undergone the same kind of emotional trauma that Eita has, and I'm looking forward to seeing both of them gradually heal each other.

To those who insist on calling Masuzu a nasty bitch and Chiwa a heroic saint: When push came to shove, it was Masuzu who threw the pole - and Chiwa is the girl who insists on not trying to steal Masuzu's girlfriend while at the same time doing exactly that. Things are a wee bit more gray than some people want to make it.

Agreed.

In the world of fiction, even the most despicable characters can be adored as long as they have certain charm. No matter whether they are protagonists, antagonists, or even cameos.

I like Masuzu for the same reason I liked Ami and Shinka. They started off bitchy, but you could tell there were reasons for their behaviour, and once they started getting developed they became much better characters. In addition, bitchiness aside, she's really funny. Not to mention that part of her behaviour (especially this time her sister showed up) shows there is indeed more to her (or, at least, that's my impression). So, she also seems rather interesting. I also should mention that the story moves basically because of her. Every single episode has been about her coming up with something and the story and characters moving in that direction. Without her, this story would be stale and boring.

In contrast, Chiwa is just... cute. Well, she has her hard-working earnest side, but that merely adds to her cute factor. Other than that, she's hardly funny. None of her actions move the story or the characters involved, and she's so well placed in her comfort-zone that she won't even confess. At least, with Masuzu around, she has reasons to be somewhat proactive, instead of waiting for a guy who sees her as family to see her in some other light.
I'll definitely sound biased because of this, but she only looks "good," because Masuzu is bitchy. If Masuzu wasn't like that, then Chiwa would have little to nothing to shine.

As for Himeka, she's just been introduced, but the whole chuunibyou thing simply doesn't do it for me, unless she's like... say... Ame from Denpa-teki na Kanojou (which I doubt, because Oreshura isn't that type of story), then I'm not expecting much.

Anyway, as for this episode.... boy it was rushed and I'll agree the pool scene looked seriously retarded. I suppose comparisons with the manga are fair with things that have been shown in the anime already. So... The singing-activity? Boy, it was horrible in the anime. I have no idea how it was in the LN, but it the manga it was hilarious. It was one of the scenes I was expecting to see animated, and they simply rushed through it! Not only that, but the singing-activity was supposed to take place a bit later, same with Masuzu's sister showing up.

As for the pool scene.... damn! I mean, seriously.... DAMN! That looked retarded. Okay, Masuzu is down, I get it. She also decided to swim, when she likely didn't know how to, because she could. I get that too. But they way in which she drowned looked so retarded... it wasn't even funny. I'm not sure if it was intended to look that way, but it looked extremely stupid. Not to mention everyone's reaction. I don't know if this came from the LN, but, for fucks sake, someone almost drowned and was in need of CPR... yet the people around go "kyaa~!" because of mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, despite the seemingly serious situation? Really? Seriously? For real?
PLEASE!

Did anybody remember the original premise of the series where it's suppose to be two people who hates love and wants nothing to do with it?

Cause I don't think I've seen any of that in our two main characters anymore.

It might behoove to think of that as more of a catalyst than a premise.
