It seems from the game footage so far, Scarabs are standardised AI cores that you can network with to boost processing. Put enough of them together and you get a Beowulf Cluster.

In short, cheap AI in a box.

Although isn't Mistral getting stronger by getting more arms?

The game was called Rising. Kojima was making it in-house. But it never worked out because they have no experience making action games. Revengence is the game resurrected as a Platinum game.

Can you really call it a reboot if the original never got made in the first place? It's more like a second attempt at the same concept. Metal Gear Solid: Rising - Take Two, in other words. There's probably another word that's more appropriate but I can't think of what it might be right now.

Never knew this game was scrapped and then brought back to life. I guess that's why there was that long period of time where we didn't hear anything new.
