Yep, instead of coming up with a good interface and figuring a way to port to consoles, they just decided to give us the stripped down interface. I love console gameplay, but really, you can't fit two things with the same thing. The fact that certain things are REGRESSIONS (No weapon swap) from d2 makes matters worse.

Thanks for reminding me why I won't be buying on of their products any time soon.

Er what? Diablo 3 has a lot of problems but control is not one of them
I can play the game perfectly fine and I'm sure so do most other people.

The console port may have something to do with D3's simplistic control.

Simplistic control = limited gameplay options such as on-demand gearswap and more complicated spells. Spamming the same few buttons over and over is not exactly fun.

There is D3's brainless buttonmashing, then there is reactive skill usage (cooldowns). Mobs in D3 are also very plain which discourage certain CC skills or single target oriented skills to be part of the standard toolkit.

WoW might be an "old" game and a boring one for many which is not worth the subs, but its combat system is sophisticated enough to leave other RPGs feel very dumb. What if, say, wizard can lay down firewalls/seas of fire and have a skill that makes enemies standing in fire/is ignited explode?

"Synergy from between skills" was shifted to synergy with gear.

Die hard D2 fans wonder why we do not have a system similar to D2: but in this day and age spamming a single skill over and over (blessed hammer!) isn't going to cut it.

Another issue:
When SC2 came out bnet 2.0 received a lot of complaints. D3 managed to one up them by having a shittier interface and social options and they had a good year to learn from the sc2 bnet experience.

you dont want button mashing but you also dont want cooldowns? doesnt cooldown prevent button mashing?

i understand for most part and most players 1-2 active skills is all it takes, but that's your choice of gameplay. with elective mode you can choose many other skills, if you make a build where 1 button can do it all, that's your "fault". you have upto 6 choices of active skills after all.

also "simplistic control", you complain about that but want a simple 1 button gear swap? have your share of complicated control in the manual gear swapping instead of the skill swapping.

Its not a choice, the most efficient builds out there revolve around shift-point archon or right-click whirlwind.

One can argue: you don't have to use those builds, you can use something a lot more fun.

Then I ask, then why play after the 20th playthough? Is grinding to paragon 100 "fun"? A part of playing the game is to get stronger over time, and being properly specced and geared is a part of that.

There is a difference between using skills in the right order and at the right time VS going into your inventory and manually selecting gear (replaceable with equip swap macros).

Consoles will have an offline mode.
RMA is unlikely.

Well, I'm happy for PS3, PS4 people I guess.

But that is how I played D2. What exactly is the problem here?

Ah, bringing the RMAH excuse to more and more people!

I'll stick with Torchlight 2, thanks.

Instead of making the game playable, let's port it to more places!

Whatever people are saying, I actually think the console version will be better than the PC one.

For one, it can be played in offline mode. Second, it has local multiplay.
Not like I'm going to play it again, just saying it's not as bad as people are making it is.

It's a blizzard game so yes, people are probably still playing it. Also, while it had problems and was not the game D2 elitists wanted it is by no means a bad game. Everyone claiming otherwise is just overexaggerating.

The Crusader class.

Finally. A knight-type warrior. 'bout time, I was tired of the Barbarian archetype.
