I mean it's obviously not going to beat Eva and whatever Ghibli comes up with, but for an otaku series? Isn't that pretty darn impressive ?

Yeah, I wasn't putting down Index. It's more that Haruhi was limited when it first came out. Index did very well in its first weekend. To give another comparison, the first Madoka movie earned 139,753,806 yen over the weekend/3,250,074 yen per theatre. It'll be interesting to follow the trail of how it does over the next few months.

*cough* You know, Ping, I could've taken some commissions for that if you ask me... *cough*
I mean, I'm armed with a tablet now ![]() By the way, apparently as ranks has shown, the Index movie is quite high up, being third compared to other movies. Unrelated to topic: I chuckled a bit seeing Life Of Pi's rank in there, though.

Index S3 is guaranteed before even this movie is announced. This is just to quell the dying fans waiting for it
then their is railgun S. I think they won't show Index S3 and Railgun S the same year ![]() I still wish for the vol 20-21-22 as a movie. Even with limited time. I want to battles there to be epic. The animation used in Alisa's concert was awesome. JC did great on this one.

As with most writers, Kamachi's main income comes from his novels, and next to that from the manga. He probably gets something nice from the extra pieces he writes, but it won't measure to the real profit from the attached products. |

So, basically, INDEX STRONG
I told you, already big show and idols, winning combination. He must be getting a chunk big enough to churn out so much material for one movie. Or he just reaaaaaaaaaaallyyyyy loves writing this stuff. personally, I hope it's 90% of the former and 10% of the latter (I'm realistic). |
