If people blame an animation director for a bad script, that's their problem, there's nothing bad about GC staff members working on this.

I'm pointing out that the staff are all people who have worked with Araki before on his previous two shows. It's interesting because he made HSotD at Madhouse, and not IG. But those people have followed him to this project at Wit Studio too. What people think of the staff based on what they have made is their business.

Quoted for truth.

As long as the anime's story sticks pretty closely to the manga, I have little issues with the staff list.

it looks the staff is also hyped & they really want to emphasise the sensation of hugeness & weirdness of titans as well as the motion, dynamism & all action related stuff. That's totally what I want!

I hope he will bring back Ryoutarou Makihara if he isn't too busy.

It's nothing like that shit.
lol but it's true that many did make comparison of SnK and SAO based on the first visual

(especially the non-manga reader, some even shopped the giant out of visual and branded it SAO season 2).

oh and yes it's nothing like that . . .

I was surprised in /a/ board that most people (non-manga readers only) hyped the show to be SAO 2.0 but turn out to be a annoying joke that was bought up in almost every Titan-related anime thread. Hopefully, the first episode will offer some dynamism behind the action-packed scenario and visual sensation.

Spoiler:

I like it when people say this because it shows that they either don't know shit about animation or they only watched the first few episodes of Guilty Crown and called it a day. The show, like many of Production I.G. shows, suffered from a quality dropped in the second half and no other episode looked as good as the first not even the last episode, overall it was pretty average but given most people were saying that it was gonna have HIGH PRODUCTION VALUES from the first PV I'm not surprise that those same novices are saying the same thing after seeing the PV for SnK, it's like they've never seen an elaborate anime PV before.

Well, you have Araki who handled the Death Note adaptation which had several changes from the source of material as well as some notable changes to some arcs, not including them softening up the original ending, and then you have HOTD which also had some changes here and there and No Longer Human which was completely different from the original novel. On a writing standpoint you can either expect it to be incredibly rushed like Shana S3 and Jojo or completely deviate from the source of material entirely like Claymore did. Hype is killing this show before the staff does.

And I love it when animation snobs experts come out to condescendingly snub the plebs who simply can't comprehend true animation.

But seriously, where did I praise GC's production to high heavens? Maybe I should've put "overall" after "but" to make my point clearer but all I said was associating GC's production quality with shit is unwarranted. Sure the high quality did not stick throughout the entire run, sure there were some bad spots here and there and sure Araki still had his favourite shaky stills and speedlines when it came to certain scenes but in at the end of the day the whole thing wasn't shit. To you it may have been just average but to me it was above average. Not godly/magnificent/flawless but still above average.

I don't really like calling out people like this but your being obnoxious there buddy. I don't think there;s anything really wrong with people hyping this up a bit since the source material is so great. The staff members aren't gods or anything, but your acting like this is doomed from the start. I did take issue with some of the changes the DN anime made, but the direction was for the most part very excellent and matched what the show was trying to do. Same thing for HOTD even if it's not really my kind of thing anymore. As far as the writing goes most people like how Jojo's story was handled in the anime so I don't see how that's really a downside.

To be honest while I am excited for this, I'm cautiously optimistic at best. I actually entirely expect it to have an anime original ending just because there;s not a ton of source material out, nor a decent place to stop the anime, and since anime original endings are kind of a toss up as to how good they can be I'm sort of worried how that'll go when they get to that point. However I don't think there's any reason to be this doomsday about it. A great manga is getting an anime adaption. Why just not kick back and hope it turns out to be good?

Can't we all just save this for after the show actually airs so there's something which can actually be discussed? Lol.

I have no problem with your opinion in Shana S3 or Claymore because I do feel the same for both shows

but JoJo (2012) is not rushed overall, especially the second part (Battle Tendency) of the series, heck we still have 4 episodes left with only few more things to cover.

oh, unless you, quoting your own word here, only watched the first few episodes of JoJo (2012) and called it a day.

and LOL so hate is helping the show now?

Since I was quoted I'll just say that yes,I just watched the first few episodes and called it a day,I have no idea what happened later on.

And that's all since like duckroll I rather feel like waiting until an actual pisode airs.

Phantom Blood was considerably rushed many people didn't make a big deal about it because it's not as well liked as the other parts so they were happy to be done with it by then.

Gee...people over hyping a show before it even comes out? When has this ever backfired? The irony that Guilty Crown is mentioned several times in this thread isn't helping it.

If anything, wouldn't that just means the script writer knows exactly what he's doing?

exactly, and it's a smart decision and that's the only point

GC is an old example, why don't go to the recent one? Like Magi?
I was so hyped about it until it started butchering the show in both animation and story quality
Still doesn't mean the story and animation will be better now if I didn't hype it up 6 months ago. It doesn't work that way.

and like duckroll said, can we just wait until the show air before judging whether is bad or good?
as for me, switching to (hating?) your side later is no brainer for me if the show turns out to be really disappointing.
