I certainly used to be far more engaged in it than I am today.
Having marathoned this manga until about the end of the destroyer arc which was when I caught up I noticed for me personally was when the manga jumped shark. It was when Priscilla's aizen style extended trolling occured, which was when i had decided the author had lost it.

To me the jump the shark moment came around when Dae speculated about the warrior's youma power deriving its strength from pure hatred against Yoma. Basically, that statement sounded too similar with DBZ.

Yagi is basically telling us now that with:
Claymores the more hatred they feel then the more they come out of control becoming Mass Destruction Weapons.

Toriyama in Dragon Ball told his audience over twenty years ago:
Saiyans the more wrath they exert then the more their chi goes violent unlimited ascending into Mass Destruction Gods.

Honestly, Claymore has lost its freshness on me, and the reason I stick up with it is because I'm too close now to the finale to call it quits at this point.

If it's based on hatred, then why does Clare suck when she's all hellbent on killing a yoma (well, AB) for the last 10+ years?

And I think we're on route to a bad end since Priscilla went inside Raki. It was his first time too...

Does she really suck? She destroyed that lion dude singlehandedly. And now she's a lot more powerful than she was then. To be fair, right now Clare should be powerful enough to kick Cassandra's ass on her own, but Yagi is pretty inconsistent with power levels so who knows....

Maybe Yagi is torn over flipping the switch in Claymore. That is the final battles escalating to DBZ power levels of insanity, or keeping up with its own style for readers to continue specualting and theorizing about the power levels, the techniques, and the youki factor all the way to the end.

However, since Priscilla has virtually ascended or even surpassed the Aizen level of insanity which she has been made into The untouchable HAXX, then it's no longer farfetch'd for me to be certain that the powers would have to turn ludicrous in order for Clare to trounce Priscilla.

Or maybe Yagi is cooking up his usual style, but it will become evident until Raki enters the fray of the battlefield.

For those getting their hopes high at the Heavens that Yagi will pull out a resurrection of Teresa through Clare as the proxy avatar, then you're going to fill crushed because I do not recall which interview made to Yagi, but he explicitly made himself clear that he's not going to resurrect Teresa, at least not in any physical form conceivable.

I think Yagi meant the contradiction of hatred, as in hatred of Yoma and hatred of Yoma flesh that resides within the warriors. Clare, on the other hand, actually has a lot of love for the flesh that was inplanted in her, since it was Teresa. That could be a reason why she was so weak for so long.

I don't think anybody expects a physical resurrection. I think they just want Clare to somehow awaken all the power that Teresa had. And to be honest, considering how overpowered Priscilla is depicted right now I think Clare needs all the power she can get if she's going to stand a chance.

Exactly. Some might say it's a jump the shark but it makes sense when you think about it. Clare hates Priscilla - not the yoma. She loves Teresa - which is what's inside her.

Yagi is getting carried away with Priscilla's power though. The power scale has always been in favor of the ABs but now it's just crazy.

If Priscilla was a light bulb, she'd have burned out 20x over by now. Using so much power in such a short amount of time should at the very least slow her down a bit, if not leave her incapacitated. That's about the only hope that Clare and company have to stop her, unless Yagi manages to pull a big friggin' rabbit out of his hat.

Whatever misgivings I have in the direction Claymore has gone in since Pieta, I still believe that when it does eventually end, that Yagi will be ending it as a story of redemption. If "defeating" Prisc is part of the end game for the manga, than I don't really think she's going to be killed off. If defeating Prisc is just a stepping stone to Yagi coming up with an even more Aizen-like Aizen, then sure, I'm sure Claire will pull another proverbial rabbit out of her butt and power up some more.

^ Well, I wouldn't mind if Priscilla gets redeemed provided Clare gets to kick her ass all over the place beforehand.

I would hope so. As there could be more story that Yagi could do if he decides to go down that route.

Yagi said in interviews that he would end the whole story in 25 tankoubon. Twenty-three have already been released and next month's chapter completes the twenty-fourth one.

to be fair that interview was over 3 years ago; there's no indication that this is still the case as it has never been repeated.

TBF if Yagi wanted to the story to leave the island he could have done it a looong ass time ago. Those 3 awakened beings battles were in the grandscheme of things filler so it's not like the island was brimming with story potential. This whole priscilla battle could have easily been done on the mainland wth some fresh antagonists and greater. The fact it hasn't seems to imply to me he doesn't really want the story to leave the island, or he wants the story to be extremely long considering it's a monthly manga and it's well passed the 100 chapter mark (which isn't all that common).

It definitely is not leaving the island. What would be a good idea is to put the ABs on a really big boat and send them off the island.

So 2 of each type of yoma will go in the boat along with 100,000 humans and it will be called the Noah arc. Out of all the things that wouldn't die my money would be the humans safeist bet.
