A friend of mine is married to a girl diagnosed with borderline. It's cruel to say but sometimes she reminds me of a 2-D tsundere. She's a kind person though and I have a lot of respect for them both. Don't think I could handle the stress or intensity of that kind of relationship. |

But is it the tsundereness that contributes more in making them fun or the extra texture? Even in anime, the 'tsundereness' itself is only a partial contributor in making a character appealing. Besides, I think its tough to just be tsundere; From person to person it may vary acting more combative is pretty normal, but to have that as a defining personality trait? Again I don't know how appealing it is, without something else to compensate.

Yeah, largely what Sackett wrote. Every day is like winning a prize. Crunchy on the outside, creamy on the inside.
There is "no such thing" as a cartoon 2-d ice->thawed tsundere. That's an artifact of mediocre story writing for a linear "game of get the girl". The real life personality type on which it is based is much more interesting.

In the zodiac, there is sign called "Cancer" which has some traits of a Tsundere.
They have a protective shell but they are really soft and sensitive in the inside. Just wanted to let you know^^" I actually like some Tsunderes in animes if they are not too extreme. People like Sana from Kodocha or Misaki from Kaichou wa Maid-sama are okay. |

Tsundere is fine to a point. I would say that there's a nice balance to aim for to make a really good tsundere, but Louise and Taiga are massively influential tsundere characters from the last few years that absolutely blow any claim I could make out of the water. Popular tsunderes are ones that rip logic to shreds and go in guns blazing, apparently.

sounds like almost every over-rated Rie Kugimiya character out there. I really gotta pity the girl: she's a decent voice actress when she's not getting type-casted so damn much (and i wonder why she's not tired of that shit).

It just means that you can't deal with girls like that. If you don't like it, there's more fishes in the sea, pal.
