Well, you can still take a pretty good guess HOW the walls are build if you have seen what I've seen. The only reason that is not answered is WHY (like that).

EDIT: About that height chart. I love how Levi is, like, super small compared to the other guys lol
(how old is he anyways? It's a joke if he's around his twenties and smaller than 15-year old Armin lmao )

Ending I had in mind was Ch30
I was thinking of stopping at the 2/3rds of chapter 34. Leave out the cliffhanger and you've got a decent enough ending. Chapter 30 has a very good scene for an ending but it doesn't provide a satisfying conclusion to the on-going plotline. It'd be better to close it before ending the season.

Actually, I would really like it if they end it with the cliffhanger of chapter 34.
It makes you want to see more. And that might be an indicator that there could be a second season coming as well.

No matter what the reason ... that's not a good way to end a tv anime.

Nope. The kind of ending you're asking here is the kind of ending that'll hurt more than stimulate people's curiosity.
Take a random mystery book, go to the page where the case is solved (the identity of the culprit is revealed, motif of the crime explained, etc ...) tear off that page and the ones after that ; then make someone read that book and observe their reaction when they make it to the torn section of the book.

I see where you're coming from,I guess I just value that scene more than tying up that particular plotline.
Either way works for me.

I'm pretty sure anyone who wants the anime to stick to the manga also wants a second season when there's enough material.
So it's not like tearing off the page and never giving answers,it's like telling people to wait for the second book that'll provide answers.

Panzerklein: How can they harvest food when a lot of Titans wander around their crops?

Randrak42: That's what the walls are for.

Of course it would have helped if Panzerklein used the "quote" function.
Oh...now I get it...
Thought Panzerklein was on drugs for a moment.

No, I'd still say the Claymore route is far worse. It basically destroyed any chance at continuing the story short of a full remake, while not resolving basically any plot thread. It effectively burned its bridges behind it, then burned the bridges in front of it for good measure. It is far worse to read a good book and then have it suddenly end in a nonsensical matter without any real conclusion, with no chance of it ever being resolved.

At least with a cliffhanger ending, the manga is still there to continue the story even if the anime doesn't continue. I also think most long-going anime fans far prefer the chance at the anime continuing, or at least want the canon material respected so it doesn't become bastardized.

Take a random mystery book, go to the page where the case is solved (the identity of the culprit is revealed, motif of the crime explained, etc ...) tear off from that page forward till the end, write on your own some random unrelated story using character from this mystery book (let alone revealing the motif, crime or culprit) to replace the part that you tear off then make someone read that book and observe their reaction when they make it to the torn section of the book.

oh and following the manga and stop it at a certain point is not equal to tear some page from the book, just end the story there and make you wait for continuation

That would just be broken beyond all belief, not to mention 100 times more terrifying.

Imagine a 15m tall giant's hand coming out of nowhere to grab and then eat you, on second thought it makes a pretty good setup for a failed scouting legion fanfic where the Titan they're fighting is actually smart enough to use camouflage (ala Rambo) and stalks/hunts the squad over a certain period of time.

I understand what you guys are trying to say but my mind is pretty much set up and it won't change. So I'm asking you to understand mine too.
I'm not against them ending it with a cliffhanger, I'm against them ending it with that specific cliffhanger. This chapter ends in a way none of the main initial issues that were set at the beginning of the story were solved and gives even more crazier shit for the fans to handle ... not to mention there's another event going on at the same time in the background and it will be left unloved as well (assuming they want to do it chronologically), plus the events in the small arc itself didn't even reach a closure. Yes, a second season is guaranteed but it won't come until 3-4 years,. I'm eventually saying that in the prospective that not everyone will follow the manga route. If you end it while staying true to the source material, at least end it with something that won't make those 3 years of waiting obnoxious as hell.
And I already implied it but I'm not really forcing an original ending either (I'd rather avoid it), but if they really have to choose between that specific cliffhanger and an original ending, I'll go for the original ending. It may be bad, it maybe half decent ; but unlike Claymore or Soul eater a remake is guaranteed (even if it comes 5 years later like FMAB), it won't leave us with thousands of questions unanswered for 3 years minimum, and no one will remember the failure after seeing how awesome the real deal is when the remake is done.
That said what I really want and the explanation to why I used "tear off some contents of the book" as an example is bellow.

Quote:

I made the analogy with a mystery book = let's suppose the anime is a mystery book, not mystery book = the manga. Also see bellow

Hmm, there's a slight misunderstanding on that part. The reason why I chose the "tearing off some contents the book" image as a comparison is mainly because I had the next chapter in mind. Right, it addressed the issues in a more subtle way ... it still leaves you with no real answer but at least you have an idea of how it works. And people are asking to end the thing without at least bothering to get to that part. If I go with the mystery book analogy with your POV : the book ends really abruptly just like that in the middle case, with a notice saying that the next book will come in at least 3 years. And then 3 years later when I start reading the book I realized the introduction would have made a far better ending to the previous book, and they made me wait 3 years for something they could have done on the spot ... it really feels like tearing off the contents from the previous book and putting it away (until I get to the next one) for me.

(also I'm not into game of thrones so I didn't really get that part)

I'm also being genre savvy here, the little something in episode 1 already makes me think it won't end before chap 35, it's just as simple as that. I have a lot of respect with this series and the staff handling it so I'm pretty sure they know what they're doing.

EDIT : crap ... forget everything I said, I just realized I mixed chapter 33 and chapter 34
