Just to clear things up :

Quote:
The headline is misleading. It is not his home that was cut down but a commercial pine plantation that served as a link between two native habitats. So part of his home range rather than his home. With such a huge gap now deforested, it is stressful and confusing. We are mapping the location of koalas in the wild but the data depends upon members of the public and rescue groups reporting to KoalaTracker. We can't save them if we don't know where they are, as this story proves.
On the other note :

I thought Wyoming is famous for their national parks, like Yellowstone and Great Teton.

UNICEF Tells Slacktivists: Give Money, Not Facebook Likes

Quote:
In the beginning, organizations wanted you to like the heck out of their Facebook pages. Why? You know, community-building, awareness-raising, general "engagement"-upping. After all, social sharing can do amazing things. It helped spark the Arab Spring (err, or maybe just sort of). And more tamely, it can shame a homophobic fast-food chain, temporarily make Joseph Kony a household name, and even help you find your birth mom.

But one thing clicking "like" doesn't do is, say, get malaria nets to African villages or boost funding for charity groups. And now that Facebook is nearly 9 years old and Twitter is 7, we're seeing the inevitable backlash against social-media "slacktivism."

In China, rat meat is sold as lamb:

"Authorities said that traders bought rat, fox, mink and other uninspected meats --
and after adding red coloring and other chemicals -- sold them as lamb rolls for
markets in Shanghai and neighboring Jiangsu province."

rat meat by itself isn't a issue. the real issues is where the meat comes form and what the chemical additive were used.

The chemical additive used is only one part of the processing than could have a impact on the quality of the meat. And even after the processing there's so many way thing can go wrong until the consummer get to eat the product...

Given the mislabeling of the product, I wouldn't be surprised if there's also others issues as well.

Given the rising prices of commodities, I am willing to be that China will start marketing soylent worldwide in 2020.

CMOT wouldn't sell rat. Not since legitimate merchants found a market for it (dwarfs).

Sorcery In The Islamic World:

"Mehdi Taeb, a senior cleric in the Iranian government recently
addressed some students at an Iranian religious school and
explained to them that the major reason so many nations have
gone along with the latest round of sanctions against Iran was
because Israel had been using magic to persuade the leaders
of these nations to back sanctions. Without the Israeli witchcraft,
the sanctions would not exist. Taeb explained that the Israelis
have used this magic before, as in 2009 against Mahmoud
Ahmadinejad when he was running for president. Many Iranians
openly opposed Ahmadinejad, who won anyway. This, to Taeb,
was proof that devout Moslems could defeat the Jewish magic."
