Softness or hardness can be changed via manipulation of the molecular bonds that hold the particles together. Changing density requires a change in phase, volume or a pocket dimension to change mass. if density would change, at least one of those must follow.

As for power......how about the Atoms Controling

He/she can do something like:

- Control the hardness or softness of an object by increasing/reducing the dense of atom or control how atom are arranged in an object, make it very easy to break or almost impossible to break.
- Increase the atom density in the air around, turn them into invisible strong barrier

I am bad at science ,so I'm sorry if above writting sounds very noob or impossible.
The guy would be a walking nuke with basically the power of an alchemist, complete control over objects in a way that not even Accelerator has;. Far too powerful.
That said limiting it to organic bonding, that being bonds between carbon/carbon and carbon/hydrogen would be powerful enough to warrant level 5 but not powerful enough to destroy the world like control over all atoms would be.

Everyone knows the Level 6 is Aogami and he has the power to create illusions and uses it to project all kinds of girls in his room.

Anyway is the Tokiwadai Queen power really Psychic? I wonder if she is not really some kind of wave manipulator because on one scene it seemed like she was reading the thoughts of a guy in the remote's screen. How could she project it to a physical object?
Well, but later on she does seem to read the mind of someone directly. (Which could also be done by manipulating bio-electricity and sending it to her by using some kind of wave).

How much would any of the ESPers benefit from perception of the world unrestricted by common sense?

A world without logic means no maths and no science.

But isn't logic and common sense different?

Questions time

1. Will Stun grenade/flash grenade work on Accelerator if it caught him by surprise? (Temporal blind and deaf) Considering Accelerator doesn't reflect light and sound out of him, normally.

2. Is Mugino's meltdown attack (single beam version) more powerful than Mikoto's Railgun in term of fire power?

He has a filter for "harmful" thing, so I guess the blast of the stun grenade is considered harmful to Accel's subconscious.

He can set it so that above a certain threshold it gets mitigated by default.

How destructive is a funneled nuclear explosion?

Forcing all of that energy into a single point? Really goddamn powerful. If all the human muscles in the body pulling in the same direction can lift a ton... yeah, a nuclear explosion funneled into one specific area/point would be devastating to that point.

Would it be strong enough to overpower railgun?

Maybe not against a 2 ton ferrous slug going at mach 18.

...or something like that, I forgot the mass effect 2 quote. But get something dense enough to go fast enough and you can get your nuke equivalent railgun without the nasty radiation.

Would radiation still be produced even though we're not using uranium or plutonium?

No.

No radioactive material, no fallout.

Clean.

Can someone explain to me how Mugino's power suppose to work? I still don't understand how her power can create a laser in-world physics wise.

I thought the beam is her power and not a result of it.

She uses it to break down pretty much anything physical.

I believe her power is breakdown of atoms. Kind of like controlled fission. The result it released energy that exists in a medium that is shattering atom and its subtomic components. It releases as light and heat energy hence beams. Hence due to her capacity to affect subatomic charges, she can limitedly deflect misaka's attacks and vice-versa.

Ofcourse this is just my theory.

Hmm, then how does she direct the energy resulting from the nuclear fission into a beam like trajectory? If her power is simple atomic meltdown, without any additional tools, the energy from that meltdown should be distributed equally to all direction like an explosion, not a laser beam.

possibly she can contain the "space" of where it occurs like with most esper powers. I used to have that issue of disbelief with pyrokinesis as well. But when you realize that ESPers are just using their own reality and overlapping it with "this" reality by using calculations, you'd realize that they need a controlled volume. Just as when you study any set-up of an experiment you can't study the whole thing. You need to designate a system first, a control volume which you take as representative of the "universe". This controlled space allows for the ESPers to overlap their ability uniquely to that and then once it escapes that field, reality takes control of the rest. So Mugino probably just designates which is the exit point for the energy within these controlled spaces.

again, theory.
