The monolog by Okita for preview of volume 6 was so poetic.

We had finally arrived to the far off Large Magellanic Cloud
A wolf had been released blocking our way
His eyes as fierce as fire
His fangs as sharp as swords
Each others objectives crosses paths and it is a duel,
straining wits and determination thrashing through the void of space

Next episode;
They had arrived

So, assuming the subs are correct... how long is a freakin' day on Garmillas?! It has obviously been at least a couple of days since that happened back in episode 15, at least long enough for the events of episode 16 to unfold. So, either something was mistranslated or Garmillan days are reaaaaaaaaaaaaaally long.
Ever heard proverb "History is written by the winner". Though Zoellik is the lose one here.

My point is, Zoellik doesn't necessary telling the truth.

I believe this is also happen in our society. Important person dies.... maybe president or king or terrorist leader, because didn't want to create chaos of order, hold the information. Assess condition and situation and choose the right time for announcing its death.

What does Zoellik telling the truth have to do with that point? The news of Desler's death were given to the command staff right after the fact by Hyss. And it is Hyss who then says that line to Domel in court, two episodes later.

They are not the same.

Spoiler for Plants...plantes everywhere:

So for the other questions, I would assume Sanada made the Wave Motion Gun (though it could have been Niimi).

And I assume the capsule will be a plot point later...or they will save that for the prequel OVA they sometimes talk about maybe making. I seem to recall a brief scene/flashback to the hospital in episode 14 that might be the answer.

Where did you even get the idea they are the same?! The planet bombed by Gimleh's forces is clearly labeled as Alteria, deep in the Garmillas territories. The other is named Beemela and it's on the outer edge of our galaxy! And it hasn'tr been inhabited for nearly 300 years.

Hmmm! The sense i get from that scene is that she's refering to someone on Iscandar or maybe even Garmillas, not Sanada. Or maybe even...Serizawa? That one is more of a long shot but think of this...

Spoiler for theory on Yurisha/Yuki and terrorist attack:

Farfetched perhaps but how awesome would that be?

I noticed that the carachter of Goer after being under Domel command improves a lot
in episode 10 he does not hesitate to fire on friendly ship
in episode 15 he witness Domel in action no friendly fire and saving damaged ships
in episode 18 he witness Zoellick in action with a lot of friendly fire to wich he opposes
and in the last scene he orders general withdrawal unlike he did in episode 10 warping away without telling the rest of the fleet to escape
this caracther is going up

Ahh yes, you're right. In my defense I did watch all of these late last night, and some details may have been blurred.

It's quite possible that ONLY the command staff was informed of Desler's death, and was never revealed to the rest of the fleets or the general public.

OK, my mistakes here didn't read the lines carefully.

But it is quite possibly the event when Domel in court is happen at the same time when Yamato arrive in Beemela. In some movie or series usually marked with "at the same time; few hours before; at the same day"..... something like that.

Let see.... here is example from Hataraku Maou.
Spoiler for HM:

Emi entering cafe at mark 14:29. But from Maou perspective, she entering cafe at mark 16:17. Two minutes different because used for Chiho explanation. Of course Emi didn't stay in front of door waiting Chiho explanation finished. She arguing with Alshiel at outside before entering the cafe.

As for how long Gamilas day, I can't answer if there is no official information.

Finally watched 15 and 16. Well worth the wait, and the production doesn't pull any punches, does it. We get a MASSIVE (if eventually aborted) fleet battle in episode 15, and a mutiny in episode 16. Then the staff tease us AGAIN with the Yuki = Yurisha theory (at this point, I'm willing to believe that Yuki really IS Yuki, while Yurisha's content to just bodyjack Misaki every now and then).

Also, raaaawwr, Niimi. Putting the moves on a younger man?

After you watch episode 17 you won't just believe Yuki is Yuki, you'll know it for certain.

It's not as insane as it appears at first glance.

This isn't like when they got attacked by Domels fleets in battle formation, with firing lines established to shoot up the Yamato. They caught this massive formation in a tight packed naval review, and they flew right through the middle of it without warning. As the episode indicated, the Gamilons couldn't shoot at the Yamato without also inflicting incredible amounts of friendly fire on their own forces. Every ship firing also had to actively worry about getting shot up in return. In addition, the number of nearby friendly ships (and friendly ships being destroyed) is probably creating plenty of impromptu chafe to muck up the targeting sensors of the further off Gamilon ships.

All those factors could have easily resulted in many ships holding their fire (despite orders) for fear of hitting allies. And any ships that were firing had their accuracy greatly reduced due to all the aforementioned consequences.

It also doesn't help that Goer's (entirely surprisingly reasonable) order for the fleet to fan out into battle formation was reprimanded by admiral WAKAMOTO, who demanded they stand proud in naval review formation and shoot the hell out of each-other to kill the Yamato.

I'm also surprised with Goer decision when he order to split the fleet. At first I'm thinking he is type who didn't care with his own fleet. Remember in episode 10 he shoot his own allies just because they 2nd class Gamillas. I'm still mad, he is definition of racist.

I wonder how much of Gamilas' entire fleet would the ships at the naval review take up.

I would assume the non-active fleet elements. Or representives of those fleets.

The wonder is how large is Dommel's fleet and then guess that others have similar formations. I can't imagine they would leave the borders unguarded for a review. but the reenforcements are now seriously limited.

The unfortunate side effect of this might be to give more power to the Imperial Guard Fleets and anyone else who has ships.

There is the matter of where the survivors of Balun go? It is not like the entire fleet was destroyed.

With the gate destroyed it'll take them longer to return home but it's not as if they're stranded forever. It's just a matter that intead of jumping directly from Balun to Garmillas space through the warp gate network, they'll have to use geschtam navigation wich might take days or as much as a few weeks to cover the same distance.

The major consequence of the destruction of the Balun gate hub for Garmillas is that they've been cut off from the Milky Way Galaxy network. Even though both networks are still functional the connection between the two galaxies has been severed. They can use the gate network in the GMC to move around but any move towards the MWG will now require standard geschtam navigation to cross the intergalactic void. Something the Yamato will have to takle in the return trip. But given the tight schedule, that might be crossed in a relatively short time using warp navigation.

This whole warp gate story has effectively plugged two major plot holes, that i can see. One is the reason why Domel goes off with just a carrier group to face the Yamato, without escorts or backup, given ships are probably in short supply until the fleets make the longer trek from Balun. Another is that in the original, the Garmillas moved around a lot faster than the Yamato. Domel goes to Balun which is roughly 74.000 light years from Garmillas (84.000 by 2199 standards) in no time, returns to Garmillas after Balun is destroyed, is tried and sentenced, sent back to face the Yamato... this had to be the result of some super warp technology that was never shown (retconed here with the warp gates). Having Domel returned to Garmillas before the gate is destroyed has him in the right place to be sent out for the Rainbow Star Cluster. Well played, Mr. Izubuchi...well played.
