The first episode confirms she was there a few years ago, when she was in middle school.

I agree that this episode made it clear this is a 4-koma adaptation. It was good, but clearly less cohesive than the previous ep.

Oh, the Twin-tail girl is surely into yuri route.

Good comedy, awesome cute kawaii moe hnnngggg scenes Can't get enough of the anime
She already made her appearance in the first ep. She was a girl who talked with Alice about Shinobu's visit.

Would he have to commit real "English person" just for parties or they speak English?

The first episode of this was very nice and charming. But that was mainly the part in England. Since Alice came to Japan, it's basically been a standard 4Koma adaptation with a foreigner twist.

It's decently pleasant and nicely colorful, but its a little bit more light and fluffy than I generally like. I've found that all-girls shows like this typically need at least a little bit of personality conflict and character clashes in order to sort of balance out with all of the friendship and smiles and laughs (the one exception is Tamayura, but that's because that show is uniquely good at being heartwarming to a tearjerking degree).

I think this is where the limitations of references plus production comes in. For the former, well it would be nice if the author's actually experienced living the the English countryside, and as such would have more story fodder, but that doesn't seem to be the case. As for the latter, ah well I do suppose that they could have used the usual excuse of "they gradually learned each other's language" (see Ikoku Meiro no Croisee, where our Japanese kanban musume was assumed to have learned French in her stay), otherwise it would be very VERY awkward due to the Engrish...

The first episode reminds me of Loli in France Ikoku Meiro from a few years ago. Sweet and charming episode, but I can't buy into those extremely exaggerated cute character designs.

Simply the best series for me in this season. It's kinda the reverse story of Ikoku Meiro no Croisee indeed, taken place in modern era. The episodes are pretty well-composed too for a 4-koma adaptation.

Really loving Manami Tanaka's voice as Alice here.

Alice is Moe indeed pyon

Shino cosplay is Awesome.

Dream to be a Bride is so overused, LOL (but that makes you so cute)

Now I see why Shino wants to "display" Alice... I would have done it too, LOL.

The first episode was adorable and funny, but primarily thanks to all the Engrish. Episode two was okay, but a noticeable step down in my opinion. Still, looking forward to episode 3.

I live in Ireland (and am quite familiar with England...), and while watching the first episode it wasn't English at all, but rather Japan but superficially English.

For one thing, the clothes Alice wore are not popular in England, but quite popular in Japan. All their mannerisms were very Japanese.

It was rather amusing. I wonder if we get Japan as wrong as they get England?

Ep3. Another wonderful, super-cute episode. The way they played on everyone's insecurities was touching. And I'm really liking the voice-work, by a group of unknown and lesser-known seiyuus. As Ryonea said, Tanaka Manami is doing a nice job of Alice -- and not just the English parts. But everyone else seems pretty effective, too. And now we have Touyama Nao in the cast. To say nothing of the teacher being played by Satou Satomi.

But the voices and the script are just part of the enjoyment. The character design is excellent, and so is some of the animation. I particularly liked the final scene before the credits, where middle-school Youko (red hair) and Aya (twintails) were walking away from us, with Aya's hand on her back, then loosening and dropping down. Very subtle and observant. And also the middle-school scene between them (around 14:00) where Youko jumps to sit on the edge of a desk, then jumps down again and leads her away to see the school. All the motions and angles were interesting and smooth. I wonder if one particular crew did those middle-school scenes.

This first-time director -- Tenshou, formerly known as Tanaka Motoki -- will be getting more shows to do, I think.

I don't get the feel that they're high school girls at all, they act like elementary school kids. (and they look elementary school as well)
Liked Ayaya's scenes. She reminds me of Kagami in Lucky Star with her loneliness and twintails hairstyle.

Karen looks good in her union jack jacket.

I wonder how they handle the dub for this.
