Great trailer. Some good info, seemingly fun storylines, and what looks like some solid action set pieces. Can't wait.

I thought it would be about the Sentinels.

It is. Peter Dinklage's character is the creator of the Sentinels.

Ahh~ I thought the idea was scraped because I didn't even see a shadow of them in the trailer.

I heard that Bryan Singer said: by the time they're about to release this trailer, most of the VFX for the movie isn't done yet. So they are forced to make a trailer mostly comprised of practical footage with minimum CGI.

Saw the movie earlier today... gotta say... really liked what came out of it. If you guys really enjoyed First Class, then I believe this film is more of a mix between the original X-Men movies and First Class... and it worked out well. Really enjoyed James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender in their roles once again, and it was good to see Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen back. There was afew things I could've found better in the film though...

Spoiler for Plot/Movie Spoilers:

Either way, guess with the post credit scene... next movie will be focusing on...

I saw this movie on Satruday (was going to see it on Friday, but only the 3D showing was out for my theater) and I thought it was really good. X-Men First Class was pretty good too, which is what got me hyped up about DoFP, which largely centers around the cast from First Class more than the original trilogy. (though the cast from the original trilogy still gets a good chunk of screentime)
I don't know how others felt about it, but personally I like how

Also, for reference, Quicksilver's name is Pietro, not Peter (even though they were pronouncing it that way).

I enjoyed being able to name every mutant that appeared except for two of the "evil" mutants (though they didn't do anything evil, it was obvious they're future Brotherhood members) from the army camp. The one with the quills and the one with the tattoo that made people puke.

But I especially loved how they brought in Blink. She was never a big character outside of Age of Apocalypse, but I loved her in eXiles. Amazingly developed character (...in eXiles, not in the movie). Also enjoyed seeing Warpath. Only ever read one run that he was in, but he was fun. Older brother of one of the first (if not THE first) X-Men to have died.

So, with the movie being out, and many friends of mine either having seen it or will soon be seeing it, I have a question that is probably more complex than I'd like it to be: what previous X-men movies are needed to be seen in order to at least be able to understand this? I've seen the first one, some of the second (still need to re-watch both, I suppose), but heard that The Last Stand was pretty crappy, as was Wolverine: Origins... so I'm going to assume that First Class and The Wolverine are on the must-see list as well, before I watch this one.

I actually haven't seen Wolverine Origins or The Wolverine yet, and I understood this movie.

You should definitely see the whole originally trilogy to fully appreciate certain parts of this movie, and it's pretty much a direct sequel of First Class, so yes that's a must.

Only one thing from Wolverine Origins is needed to know, and that's that he was experimented on to get the adamantium. The only thing from The Wolverine to know is at the end he's visited by Professor X and Magneto to start working a resistance against the Sentinels, and that he's basically tortured by having had to kill Jean in Last Stand.

Otherwise, all you need is First Class and knowing that X-Men is a thing. Anything else you know is just icing on the cake for easter eggs and such.

If Majin decides to watch the trilogy, I won't spoil this bit for him, but I needed to know something...

It was a scene that was cut that would've explained it, but it was stated in an interview:
