May I just say that Abridged Togami is about 1000x more awesome than even his in-game counterpart?

That and Ichimaru as well.
"THIS SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT IS NOT WELCOME IN A SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT!"

It helps that the voice acting is stellar. Worthy of the esteemed ears of Byakuya Togami.

Personally I enjoyed Sydsnap's Maizono the most. Not only does she sound great, but her lines are simply too much for me to withstand. Never before have I been so entertained by weaboo-speak.

Plus, her reaction to Monokuma, "dame desu!" makes her sound almost exactly like Suiseiseki.

There already is.
You shouldn't look it up though because the related videos are full of spoilers.

That Abridged video was truly fantastic. I was cracking up laughing almost the entire time! Whoever did these voices should be pros, as this Abridged video sounded better to me than many actual professional dubs.

The writing is very crisp and well-delivered for that abridged video.

6 more hours till the finale. Any anime viewers watched the game's final trial.

Wondering if there will be a teaser at the end for either IF or SDR2.

An IF OAV would be gorgeous.. Especially since there is not much mystery to screw up there.

The show is coming to an end. I really hope they adapt Dangan Ronpa 2 and do a better job with this one. After playing the game, this anime adaption feels so rushed. I think it could have benefited from some filler episodes to pad out the anime and show things not seen in the games.

Oh well, I guess there's only so much you can fit in to 22 minute episodes.

After finishing the anime, I must say I truly enjoyed it from start to finish, but I felt things could've been planned out better if it were longer than 13 episode etc. None the less, if SDR2 does come into fruition I hope they take the mistakes the 1st adapted series had and make it better. I still give DR1 a 8/10, but felt rushed and I felt like somethings could've been implemented like the investigations and trial phases etc. I hope season 2 makes up for that, if it does happen afterall.

On that note - isn't SDR2 more popular than SDR1 in terms of sales, plot, and character presentation?

Are there any official figures regarding the anime yet? Anything that suggests whether an adaption of the sequel can happen or not?

6650 copies. Not bad for the current season, but still not good enough to have a second series

Mind you that the sequel NEEDS two seasons. The content is really impossible to cover with one.

6650 is probably good enough to get a second series as long as the game sales were boosted at least some by the anime.

Between this and that little tease at the end of the last episode, I'm now pretty confident that Danganronpa will get a sequel. The big question though is if it'll be one cour or two cours. 6650 is probably enough for a sequel, but it might not be enough for a two-cour sequel.

What I mean is that it is really impossible for SDR2 to be adapted in 1 cour. The cases are much longer, even if they skip all investigations for all cases, it's still longer. Case 5 is a full case unlike the first game. Finale is much longer, the first game's finale is already 3 hours long. There are more plot twists, and necessary hints to it.

This is just like squeezing Umineko Chiru into 2 cour.

This exactly. The anime wasn't so much to sell DVDs as it was to really push the franchise out and put on the radar of so many more people.

And it seemed to have worked really well, at least from what I've seen of English-speaking communities. I remember back when it was only just games, a scant few of us had an interest in the franchise; since the anime's announcement (and subsequent release of fan translation) the popularity of the series exploded, at least initially during its airing.

The multi-media push was arguably successful, if we look at how hard they're pushing the series now; the remake, a spin off game and DR3 in the works. And a localization after 3 years, at last. Same case as it was with p4 last time, with them pushing out arena and the remake. A anime sequel seems more like an eventuality than a possibility.

Ooh ooh, how about a cast pulled from different school anime, who would your dream cast be?

Do you mean picking one anime alone, and using all of its teenaged cast? Or do you mean piecing together a cast from as many different anime shows as you like?

Both are good questions.

For the "one anime alone" scenario, the trick is finding an anime with a good mix of male and female characters, and some personality clashes within the cast. I think that, as Dangaronpa itself showed, this sort of survival game scenario is best if you have an even or close-to-even gender ratio amongst the students. So, if I had to go with "one anime alone"... Valvrave the Liberator Loads of male and female teenaged characters, with a wide variety of loud, colorful personalities and character types. And some of them (L-Elf, Saki, Shouko) are actually over-the-top enough to fit some "Super Duper High School" titles.

Now, if I have to pick 16 students from different anime shows... well, that's trickier. Ok, let's see - 8 females, 8 males

Super Duper High School Light Novel Writer: Kirino Kousaka
Super Duper High School Game Maker: Kuroneko
Super Duper High School Conspiracy Theorist: Haruhi Suzumiya
Super Duper High School Thief: Akemi Homura
Super Duper High School Gun Enthusiast: Mami Tomoe
Super Duper High School Samurai: Sayaka Miki
Super Duper High School Idol: Saki Rukino
Super Duper High School Genius: Kurisu Makise
Super Duper High School Hope: Riki Naoe
Super Duper High School Soldier: L-Elf Karlstein
Super Duper High School Swimmer: Rin Matsuoka
Super Duper High School Sentai Hero: Atsuhiro "Wien" Maeda
Super Duper High School Manga Writer: Hiro Hirono
Super Duper High School Mad Scientist: Rintaro Okabe
Super Duper High School Computer Hacker: Itaru Hashida
Super Duper High School Idealist (Final Boss/Mastermind): Light Yagami

There, that seems pretty well-balanced to me. What do people think?
