It happens and it does but killing is killing, no matter who you kill and the worst are the ones who do it and genuinely believe in the rightness of their actions (Not how it was a hard and necessary but unforgiveabale nonetheless but those who actually believe it was morally right and kill with hatred)

If you read closer, you'll realize that I didn't mean it as an excuse for killing
Killing is killing. IE eventually it'll come back to bite you and yours in the ass some day. It solves nothing and is just a shit action that should have no bit of "right" in. I'm speaking more of the moral and overall effect in the long run than from a short term tactician's view The person with ultimate responsibility does not matter

I think that when judging people like LeMay and their personal views on such grizzly things as strategic bombing, you have to consider that if the work was "hard and necessary", it would have also been necessary to find and choose the right men for the job. That means men who are themselves monstrous in some ways. As necessary instruments they should not be considered in the same vein as men like Mengele or Prince Asaka. |

I must say, Syria is no less than a swamp now. No way to end this conflict peacefully, that is for sure.
Anyway, anyone here seeing the same pattern of Middle East: Religious Clash more than Philosophy Clash? |

And if you thought LeMay had any mistaken ideas about deliberately roasting innocent civilians...his remarks then and later in Korea more than make it clear he knew what he was doing, "targeting industry and civilians being collateral" be damned As for the first part....I never bought the two wrongs make a right argument.

One way or another, the lack of a clear leader who speaks for the Rebels means we do NOT want the current regime to fall. The rebels need to prove they have a plan for the future, or no one can really endorse them destroying what political system that currently stands.

Syria becomes largest home to al Qaeda; jihadists find safe haven to plot attacks:
"Syria has become al Qaeda’s largest safe haven, with more than 10,000 fighters who outnumber the terrorist network’s core organization in Pakistan and its affiliates in North Africa and the Arabian Peninsula. The development, analysts say, provides al Qaeda with a new base from which to attack Western targets, attract recruits to its jihadist doctrine, finance its operations and expand its influence throughout the Middle East. In addition, the terrorists are consolidating their hold in Syria— generating revenue by selling oil confiscated from wells in the eastern part of the country, setting up Islamic courts and other means of government, and enforcing borders with neighboring countries, the U.S. ambassador to Syria said Thursday." Syria mess may spawn ‘Islamic emirate’ world must deal with, says Iraq’s top diplomat:
"Iraq’s top diplomat says the “toxic” proliferation of extremist groups among Syria’s rebels raises the prospect of a jihadist-ruled territory at the heart of the region. Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari told attendees at a security conference in Bahrain on Saturday that the increase in radical fighters in the armed opposition to Syrian President Bashar Assad is leading toward the creation of an ungovernable “Islamic emirate” that the world will have to deal with down the road." See: http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/...world-must-de/ ================================================== ===== Al-Qaeda branch in Syria has shot down an Assad regime’s made-in-Iran drone: "Al Jazeera has posted exclusive footage of a drone shot down by Jabhat al-Nusra, al-Qaeda’s local branch in Syria, while it was flying over Aleppo. The drone seems to be a Yasir drone, a small Iranian drone (that can be quickly disassembled to be carried in a suitcase) based on the American Boeing ScanEagle (captured by the Iranians in 2012). The Yasir (or the Sayeh – the version operated by the IRGC, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps) has been operating in Syria since November." If Israel want to go to war, it is their sovereign right to do so. I do not mind AT ALL that they go to war with anybody and everybody; as long as they do it with their own soldier's lives and their own money. I don't want Australia to be dragged into an American conflict with the purpose of fighting Israel's battles. We are allies with America; but the alliance doesn't go far enough to fight a third party's battles.

Report: Hezbollah moving scud missiles from Syria into Lebanon:
"Hezbollah has been transferring its long range missiles out of Syria and into Lebanon, including missiles which could reach the heart of Israel, the New York Times reported on Frdiay. Israeli national security analyst Ronen Bergman, who has close contact with Israeli intelligence officials, told the Times that most of the long-range surface to surface missiles given to the Lebanese political group by its allies Iran and Syria have been transferred to Lebanon despite Israel’s attempts to halt the process."
