That aside
can gunpla produced the energy shield some units used like the SF, destiny, even F91?
Or that's the only thing that can't be done?
They can produce energy shields

So many people seem to be overlooking the unit from Victory (do not know name as I have not seen the series yet) which appeared in the commercial fighting the Messala, which produced a beam shield before getting shot down

That is not the beam shield, though. It's the rotating wing, like a helicopter. That thing can be used as a shield of some sort.

You was talking about this thing, right?

So far I haven't seen any indication of beam shield in Gundam BF.

Inb4 Strike Freedom/Infinite Justice come out and it's shown they are using beam shield but then become owned by Zaku Amazing or a customized mass-produced mobile suit piloted by a skilled pilot.

Wouldn't be so bad seeing a Shokew or Rig Shokew in this show. A Contio or Rig Contio wouldn't be bad either.

I wonder how Build Gundam Mk-II will make its debut. My speculation is this:

1. Build Strike Gundam somehow gets stolen by an opponent who is set to face Reiji and Sei in the next round in a tournament. Because Sei had completed Build Gundam Mk-II, he makes Reiji use it to fight against Build Strike Gundam and take it back after winning against it.

2. Used as a spare after the incident with Mihoshi/Kirara, where it is used as a public fight mobile suit and not used for championships, to avoid bringing Build Strike Gundam out in the public again.

3. Used as Sei's unit in some kind of 2 on 2 battle, where he does support firing for Reiji.

I want to see that Mk-II in action and since its beam rifle is pretty much done getting built, I would say it isn't long till it makes its debut in real combat.

That's a Rig Shokew that you saw. The beam thing on its hand is called Beam Rotor. IIRC its primary function is to give hovering capability to the MS without using thrusters much, but can also function as a pseudo-shield .

He's not wrong. A beam rotor is made of beams and can also function as a shield. Ie its a type of beam shield.

Since the beam rotor exists in BF there's no reason to think that a regular beam shield would not.

I always thought it's a physical rotor. How could a beam rotor produce force like the usual one?

IKR? Only that sliver of a section was cheering. I found it quite funny, what with the "idol" introduction to the arena followed by the anti-climax.

She's the perfect antagonist to my fic!

I think the Mihoshi craze is actually the countertransference of emotions from Yurin's death though...

No it's not. The blades are made from beams, hence the name: "Beam Rotor" .

Have you seen Victory Gundam? It is a crazy show made by the heavily-depressed Tomino. So, seriously, don't ask about the logic in it . Trust me, Beam Rotor is just the tip of the iceberg of WTF-ness .

One of the best Gundam OPs.

But I prefer DX over GX.

Speaking of G units,
will the super/hyper mode also accessible or even transam or NTD mode of an MS even possible?

I guess we'll have to wait until it's shown. Before that, we can only guess.

My guess? Well, from a game POV, such OP tech like Hyper Mode, Trans-am & Moonlight Butterfly are not only unfair, but also difficult to apply within the system. Let's say, if a modeler kitbashed a kit by combining God, Turn-A & 00 Qan[T] into one model and uses it to fight, how can the system interpret the "special move" that the kit suppose to have? So I don't think such OP modes is ideal for Gunpla fight. But if this show really intend to go further into the realm of fantasy, anything will be possible. Remember, Reiji is still a "mysterious being" at this point.

All the data would be inserted into the GP Base. Otherwise, the system wouldn't know the capabilities of any custom models/parts, such as the Build Strike.

That would like of defeat the purpose of having a good builder though... All you have to do is kitbash a bunch of custom OP abilities and weapons into a run of the mill suit and let it fly. Sort of like the Beginning Gundam in the OVA with its crazy I-field weapons and stuff making it impenetrable to all but a few select suits. Makes you wonder why anybody bothers to build a generic suit.

Then again... The whole effort=better suit thing doesn't make much sense anyway - how does the system recognize how much time you spent on polishing your MS? You paint your MS and all of a sudden its better? Remove a nub or two and it becomes more effective in battle? How does that all figure?
