Lol, I like how this cover art looks more serious than all the covers (except 5) covering the sisters arc. Just a bit funny haha. It's nice though.

Seeing as it has been quite a while, with no mention of anything of the sort, would it be safe to assume there will be no Archives this time?

So my Vol.6 bluray just arrived and it came with four rolled up posters. Calendar posters. One had jul~dec and then the other 3 had july/aug sept/oct nov/dec respectively, all of them with beach/pool/swimsuit pics... I mean its free and its nice but why just those months and why are they all summer themed...

I've done some searches but I haven't yet been able to find anything which says that there will be Archives released for Railgun S - when do you reckon this was?

Railgun S vol. 6 sold 12,598 + 2,117 = 14,715 (BD + DVD = total)

Here is a sales comparison of Railgun and Index sales for first weeks:
Code:
    Index 1 Index 2 Railgun 1 Railgun S
1* 13,220 | 17,470 | 20,337 | 16,720
2* 12,528 | 15,458 | 18,383 | 16,008
3* 11,451 | 15,402 | 19,508 | 14,930
4* 10,730 | 15,256 | 21,232 | 14,465
5* 10,265 | 15,722 | 20,781 | 15,450
6* 8,972 | 15,144 | 20,030 | 14,715
7* 9,365 | 14,319 | 20,436 | --,---
8* 8,549 | 13,705 | 20,025 | --,---
source

Sadly it does not holds like Railgun 1.
Even the anime original arc didn't boosted it up.

I think I understand why they officially announced there will be no Railgun / Index anime in near future (most likely whole year 2014)

Railgun S sales is poorer than its first season which is not surprising for me. I heard lots of complaints with Touma stealing the show and Accelerator must die

rofl. anyways even with kamijou and accelerator screen-time were gone it wouldn't change the sales any better since the previous episode disc didn't sale any better till the last three episodes of railgun S of sister arc. plus what i heard were mostly good things from their appearances in the show.

They must release more index... Season-wise Index is improving, while Railgun is falling

Sales wise. Railgun still sales higher than Index S1 and later volumes of S2.

Railgun S only falls in sale in vol 3 where the sister arc gets deeper.

Hopefully it's not too long or else peeps will lose interest considerably like what happened to Shakugan no Shana.

To me it still seems like Index II is selling better than Railgun S... I'm pretty sure a large part of this is Index fans who got turned off by Railgun season 1... and therefore didn't watch season 2...

I hoped that the original arc will sell significantly more, though I admit -even with being as great as it is- it can't fully stand on it's own. Possibly that's why those who didn't like how Railgun S ended up decided not to buy the Silent Party Arc separately.
If they want sales, I think this might be the ultimate recipe: animate Liberal Arts City, enrich it with anime-original content and release it as min. 2 OVAs. The base story is epic, many spectacular fights, and if they arrange it nicely, they can show the entire cast in swimsuits. With top-notch animation they can provide extremely good action scenes and eyecandy. It will be standalone, and will have an overall nice atmosphere as well. Nagai can bring out the best of the setting.

The last season of Shana was created much later then the previous, that's why the fans lost interest (it being badly arranged was also a reason.) I think Railgun/Index will not meet this kind of end if they make good enough material.

If i had to give my opinion, it probably that people didnt want to see the sister arc again and just want to skip it, which i dont blame them if that was the case

OR once again like we all do, we see it online stream which we all know AFFECT THE SALE

it sad but true

In my opinion, I still feel like it's unfortunate that they think it's watching the Sisters arc again, especially because it has a completely different feel to it... Though I guess I can see why some people might feel that way...

I just kinda of confuse, did they not read the manga knowing it GONNA BE DIFFERENT FROM THE INDEX VERSION, or was the marketing not that good, cause seeing the PV again just to see what people said and people were like

"Sister arc again?"

if i had to say anything, the anime version was good because in the manga, And i had to admit it, IT IMPLIES THAT YOU READ OR WATCH THE INDEX ANIME, cause you just see touma just walking to misaka on the bridge with no context, WHICH THE ANIME fix that.

But then again, it where the anime has the advantage on fixing or making thing clearer to people who didnt see index

That's because Railgun 1 created a warped vision of th series and once it showed how is supposeded to be, reality hit the fan.

It's sad because THAT might be the reason why the company doesn't wants to keep with the series, Index slone can do it well.
