Either way, that's not a funny one to read, satire or not.

Wow, man... just how blatant can an official be with his morbid hints? "Accidents tend to happen to people who betray Russia".

Anyway... Great to see Canada medalling already! Congrats to Justine and Chloe.

Speaking about Canadians, why didn't the Russians bar them from the ice hockey segment of the games?

Ugh. I had a bad feeling about the moguls. Really irked with that result. But, I guess this is the trade for men's slopestyle.

I never heard of that satire website before. Nevertheless, it was quite some very bad taste for an article.

Also, hats off to Mark McMorris for getting that bronze medal in the slopestyle after getting through that rib injury and through the long road for qualification in the final.

Quite surprised that my fellow Philippine countryman is in the games for male skati, despite the fact that they flopped in '92 and such that they have a reputation of not getting decent medals aside from bronzes.

Official website seems like the right place: http://www.sochi2014.com/videotransl...?id=1634726%20 no 1080p yet, but no commentaries either

Turkish F-16s scrambled for 'drunken' Sochi hijack attempt:

"Turkey scrambled two F-16 jets Friday to force down an airliner from Ukraine when
an apparently drunk would-be hijacker ordered it to Sochi where the Winter
Olympics opening ceremony was underway.

The Ukrainian man, brandishing what he said was a detonator, tried to gain access
to the cockpit of the aircraft operated by Turkey's Pegasus Airlines with 110 people
on board, officials said."

Congrats to Russia for their first medal of the games, taking Silver in the women's 7.5km Biathlon Sprint. Heck of an effort by these athletes.

EDIT: I take that back. Russia got Bronze in the women's 3000m speedskating event about an hour and a half before the biathlon. Didn't see that result, as I was at the gym then watching the Biathlon.

Either way, congrats!

On another note.... Screw NBC. Even their online coverage blows. They cut to commercials online at the worst times. I really wanted to see the Russian girl get her flowers at the Biathlon flower ceremony to see how loud the cheer for her would be. And... NBC cuts to commercial right before she is introduced, and comes back right after they are onto the Slovakian who won gold (who is actually Russian by birth, go figure...). UGH.

Damn you Canada! You were supposed to take the Team Skating away from the Russians, but you failed me. Booooo.

Congratulations Russia for your first Gold.

Russians were just way too strong. Put in some great performances. Glad that the US recovered from a weak start to capture Bronze. Knew they couldn't catch the Canucks, but they had to nurse that lead over some strong challengers.

Congrats to Russia on the first gold of the games. Also just took Silver in Men's Luge Singles. I'd really like to see the Medal ceremony for team skate to see the crowd reaction.

Huge congrats to Italy's Armin Zoeggler for medaling in his SIXTH consecutive Winter Olympics in Men's Luge Singles. Took Bronze to add to his two Golds, two Silvers, and a Bronze from Vancouver. And even bigger congrats to Germany's Felix Loch. Just obliterated the field to defend his Gold from Vancouver. Unbelievable how far ahead of the field the top guys were in a sport where hundredths of a second often separate competitors.

That appears to be Marianne St.Gelais. Incidentally, her boyfriend Charles Hamelin won the gold medal in the 1500-meter short-track speed skating race.

At the same time, 2 other lads from my home province (Alexandre Bilodeau and Mikael Kingsbury) won a double in men's moguls freestyle skiing today. We knew they would fight each other for gold and silver because they are currently the best 2 in the world, and they delivered.

Meanwhile, our women's hockey team qualified for the semi-finals with a win over Finland and a second victory in the round robin.

Hats off! Chapeau!

Currently watching the Great Britain v. Sweden women's Curling match (tied going into the 7th...I'm behind by a bit). Great game so far. Next up America v. Switzerland. Good times ahead.

Women's luge was a lot of fun earlier, no finals yet, but America has been doing great in this event.
