Problem: "hard disk full" error

I usually don't ask for help about this stuff but I'm pretty much backed into a corner on this one.

I'm trying to download a rather large file through BT, so I've had Bittornado running since yesterday. When I woke up this morning expecting the torrent to be complete, I was greeted with a torrent froze at 90% done and saying "I/O error: disk space full".

So I checked my disk space and I had 6 GB free. The file itself is only 4.5 GB and 90% of it was allocated to my drive already, so I'm a little confused. I've tried deleting files to make more space and restarting (which brought my free space up to 9 GB) but it still gives me this error as soon as it checks the file data. Can somebody tell me what's wrong?

EDIT: never mind, I think I figured it out.

FAT32 sucks
Convert to NTFS
FAT32 with its 4GiB per-file limit, and you exceeding that limit throws a disk full error.
