program to edit softsubs

simple as that.. what program is need to take out and edit the subs from za-warudos x264 dothack roots epi 4?

and how to put them back in?

You could just use Aegisub. If it's contained in MKV you'll need MKVToolNix to de/remux the subs from the file. If it's not in MKV, tell us what it's in, first.

Yes, it's MKV. You'll need mkvextract to get the .ass subs out (there's SRT as well), which you can edit with Aegisub (or Notepad I guess). Then mkvmerge to remux.
