I seeded all previous episodes until the latest episode is out. I dont switch off my com often lol. I'm still seeding the OP single too, its almost at a 60 ratio.
Normally, I try to seed all the eps of smaller niche series that don't get as much love (To Heart 2, Lamune, etc) for as long as my bandwidth will tolerate it but the last few months I've been fighting with a rotten connection issue and "tech support"(not).

Gonna have to make up for it if/when my issue gets resolved.

That's right, the time has come. Although the official release date for the ED single is 5/10, many stores in Akihabara have already begun to sell the widely-anticipated single on 5/9.

As you can see, the "Aim for Oricon No.1" movement is in full swing in Akihabara, storefront stands, ED dance loop demos, plus various notices and billboards can be found inside and outside of many stores across Akiba. By the end of the day (5/9), several stores, such as Tora no Ana and Asobit Game City have sold out their stock of Hare Hare Yukai.

Now then, with this much publicity, I wonder how well the ED single will do.
By the way, even the OP single, which wasn't part of the movement, managed to snatch the 10th place spot in the Oricon weekly rankings. One thing's for sure, this week's Oricon rank chart will be something to look forward to.

All you people who didn't buy the ED single yet, do it now from Amazon or something, otherwise it's death penalty for you!
I checked today's Oricon daily singles chart and Hare Hare Yukai debuted at 15th place. The other anime single in the chart is FictionJuction Yuuka's "Silly-Go-Round", it debuted two notches better at 13th place. Supply less than demand? But Oricon No. 1 as the best result seems unlikely now with Orange Range releasing their single in the same week.

I'm currently seeding even the first episode (and the request is still high).

My miserable 256Kb/s upload band it's not that effective, but I do what I can

Ack. Sorry if I sound offensive, but this series...it's very unoriginal, and that's just putting it lightly >_>;

I don't get how most people say it's the best anime ever made in history. No it's not, it's totally unoriginal. And I don't get how people find it unique either. The characters are your sterotypical anime characters too >_<

I mean sure, the animation is well done. But that's all. It just wins the "BEST ANIMATION FOR A TV SERIES" Award. Not the "BEST ANIME EVER MADE" or "MOST ORIGINAL" or "TOTALLY UNIQUE" Awards. I've seen this been done a million times in anime.

In my opinion, Astro Boy's probably the best anime ever made, cos y'know, Astro Boy basically started it all.

Okay, and I bet you're thinking I've just watched only episode one, huh? No, I've watched to 6. I'm not really impressed with it so far, to be honest. I mean it's good and all, and it makes me laugh, but usually I'm always like, "AHAHAHaha...Wait...haven't I seen this before? ...Oh yeah! In [insert anime title here]!"

Yeah, this is just coming from a person who's watched a lot of anime of this particular genre. So don't hate me, hate my experience. If I were an anime n00b, I'd probably say this series was the best thing that came around. But y'know, every series has it's fans and haters. Just like with Naruto and FMA, right?

Of course all characters here are stereotypes, the author purposely did this. But Tanigawa Nagaru was brilliant, he took these stereotypes to the extreme and at the same time used these stereotypes to cover their real identities.

Also this anime definitely isn't for anime noobs, they won't even go past stage 1, episode 1/0.

Up till now all I've seen from those people who don't like Haruhi are people who didn't read the novels, have no background knowledge of the show or people who didn't get a single clue about it.

Since an anime guru like you is also unenlightened by the anime, I recommend you to read the novels. We have some helpful guys who are translating the novels into english and so far novel 1 is done, I strongly suggest that you read it. You'll learn why the novel is an award winner and is selling out every where on Earth. Also I must say the novel was really more exciting than the anime, usually I'm a watcher not a reader.

Every show has it's fair show of detractors... This one is no different. In fact, this one is apt to have more since the viral spread of the show's popularity was so strong in it's early days. People who were unfortunate enough to miss the first few episodes likely were drawn in after seeing the overwhelming word of mouth on other anime forums. Those people are apt to be a lot pickier, wondering why the show has everyone talking about it. It's only to be expected.

Also... I don't recall ever hearing anyone call it the best "Anime in History", although that claim being applied to this show doesn't suprise me all that much. I don't think it's appropriate, but that's only because the show hasn't finished it's full run and making such declarations this early is always a bad move.

You're perfectly welcome to feel the show is unoriginal. I'm sure you've seen this exact notion played out in anime at least a dozen times (I doubt you've seen it played out even once, but that's just me ^^). As for totally sterotypical anime characters? In a way, yes... They are. After all, Mikuru was brought into the club because she personifies a very specific character seen often in anime, manga and ero-games.

Episode one alone is good enough to stand on it's own. It pokes fun at the endless cliche's of student films everywhere... but it's humor certainly isn't for everyone. I'm going to assume the humor isn't for you, but hey! You've watched episode 1 all the way through episode 6 whether you like, or hate the show.

So welcome aboard, someone can slide down and make some room on the bandwagon for you (You're obviously a convert on the "hate it" side... but you're still very much a convert) ^^

Can you be more specific why this anime series is "unoriginal"

perhaps its my lack of anime "experience" but i haven't seen any thing similiar to this series.

If you don't want people to be skeptical about your negative criticism, please give examples and some sort rationale that people can understand.

If we believe what everybody says without justification, i doubt many anime series here would not have so many fans....

I personally don't watch anime thinking "Oh noes... I've soooo seen this before."

I just enjoy the show I'm watching if I like it, or if I don't like it I don't bother watching. I certainly wouldn't watch all the way to ep6 of a show I don't like ^^

That's what they said when people bashed on Naruto, FMA, and all those other popular anime series as well. But there were still many fans of those series.

Anime is unoriginal on its own these days. Things we call original has probably been done at least once or twice. Only a few series in my book have been worthy to be called GREAT. For example, ROD, it was an awesome and unique series. Using paper? That's new!

Also, the whole crazy school life thing, has been done many times before, in one way or another. MoSH is probably one of those series that just sticks out the most for some reason. But, in my opinion, it's unoriginal. Because it totally feels like I've watched it before. MoSH is like a mix of other anime from it's genre, as well as other genres too. A couple of anime I can somewhat relate MoSH to is Full Metal Panic! Fumoffu, School Rumble, Azumanga Daioh, GTO. And since MoSH has a lot of fan service in it too(SOFTCORE PORN PREASE), it reminds me of Maburaho and Happy Lesson. I'm trying to think of more, but those are the ones that come to mind. But basically, any anime that's set in school reminds me of MoSH. And most of those anime I've mentioned ended with failure, with me of course. Because it's the same old thing over and over again. It get's a little dull, if you ask me.

I'm not saying I totally HATE this series, I'm giving it a chance. And it's an okay series, but I'm not that impressed like how everyone says I should be. And it just seems like all the rest. Watching the same thing over and over gets old ~_~

Like, if you've ever watched Abenobashi. It was pretty good in the beginning. But after while, it just got repetitive and boring. Same with Dragon Ball too, it was cool at first, but after awhile...bleh. Watching too much of the same thing gets old, I'm sorry.

BTW, I'm a girl DX

Well I guess you haven't read the novels too, but its also a good thing, because you are going to be in for some powerful shocks and surprises when Yuki and Itsuki goes into action. And Mikuru doesn't exist just for fan service, shes going to be part of some unbelievable events.

The reason why the producers have rearranged the episodes in such a way that its jumbled up is because they want the best to be at the end.

Right now everything you've seen is very normal school life. But in between these parts which the producers decided not to show yet, are some really insane, intense and jaw dropping events.

Remember the Yuki chanting and giant being cutscene in episode 4? those events will dislocate your jaw.

Swap some nouns in there, and you'll have a standard template for a valid complaint against pretty much every anime out there.

The fact that the show reminds you of a lot of different animes is actually a good thing, because that means it's like none of them at all as a whole.

The most interesting thing about the series is it's unique view of the world and our existence. There's no love story here, no evil antagonist to defeat, it's generally a comedy, but it also deals with supernatural occurrences and topics of interest that concerns with the way people live their lives. I can't think of any other series that has all of the above.

Sure, none of them are original on their own (nothing is original if you only look at the ingredients), but it's how they're put together that matters.
To say that Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu is unoriginal simply because it's a mix of elements found in other animes would be like saying hamburgers are unoriginal because they're made from a combination of bread, meat, vegetables, and condiments.

But anyway, I'm not a Haruhi fanatic (mysterious voice: "but you read every single volume of the nov- *smack*), nor am I trying to change your mind. If you don't find the show to your liking, then that's unfortunate (maybe you can look at some other great shows of the season, I recommend Higurashi or Utawarerumono ^^; ). The truth is, Suzumiya Haruhi was never a mainstream title to begin with, so it either clicks with you or it doesn't. It was like that for the novels, and it's the same for the anime.

Oh don't get me wrong. Like I said, this series is alright. Honestly, I've seen better though.

I'm not saying I'm a total hater, I'm just pointing out that it's not all that good compared to other series. I came from a forum where like 99.9% has succumed to the "greatness" that is Haruhi and go, "HARUHI'S THE BEST ANIME EVER CREATED!!1!1!ONE!" Seeing about 20 pages of that can lead a person to insanity ^_^;

Besides, you always need at least one person who doesn't LOVE this series to yell at and harass ;o

Oh yes, Utawarerumono's pretty good ;o DARN FURRIES lol

Oh I see... he thinks this is a "school life" show. Missing the clues, there (comparing to AzuDa?????? School Rumble??? what? sorry don't see any connection other than a school is involved).
I will agree that people who type in all caps and "llama"1337 should be discounted. But the items you're souring on are the shell surface of what is going on. And what series did you see events like the ones in episode no. 5 so as to claim it is all a rehash? (I can't even think of one that started a school club in the fashion of ep 2 and 3).
More importantly, what other series has explored this variation of the concept of mind over reality? I can think of other science fiction stories that come close (anyone remember Twilight Zone - the original series) but not seeing many examples in anime.
Myself, I'll wait til the series is over before I'll make grandiose claims, but the production values, animation, voice acting, scripting, and directing already put this in a pretty high arena.

I mean.. I love Utawarerumono but it is *definitely* a rehashed old tale ... just being told well.

*Snaps her fingers* There's one I forgot to mention, Genshinken, it deals with a silly club like SOS but I think that's all. And Alien Nine, I think. I swear, you're killing my brain, trying to remember some of these old series. By the way, like I said, I am a girl >_>;

Anime that's coming out these days, like I said, aren't all that original. But the telling of the plot makes it worth while. Right now, in the anime, they jump around with it. I'm not very fond of that kind of unraveling of the story. It makes you confused and ask "The hell is going on here?"

And to be honest, getting told that MoSH is the best anime in history and that I'm too stupid to worship it like everyone else does, just gets on my nerves really. ~_~

"C'MON! JUST GIVE IT A CHANCE! IT'S AWESOME!"

>_> I am so quit telling me. Being forced upon my will to watch this series and orgasm over it? Maybe that's one of the problems too. Can I freely say that I'm not in love with it though without getting showered with bashings? No. But I do anyway. I'm not fond with this anime like everyone else is. I'm not a total fanatic. I don't foam at the mouth for the next episode to be released. It's an adverage series, that's all I can say. But if I really wanted to watch a series like MoSH, I should just record my whole life at school, it's basically crazy and insane like MoSH is.

And can I say, EXTREME LOLI? ;o

Like, I'm pretty sure, there are some people that watch MoSH because the characters are cute. The same with Shana, a lot of people I knew watched cos Shana was hot(She was though...). >_>; Like they would say the plot sucks and I would always asked them why they still watch it. They'd always say, "COS SHANA'S HOT!" >_<; I could imagine sombody going "COS MIKURU IS LOLI!" >_>;

Jinsoo: The only reason they are asking you to give it a chance is cos they think you're missing out if you don't. That doesn't mean it is necessarily true for you or that you have to listen to it. It just may be simply that in your case this series just doesn't hit the 'sweet spot', that's all Don't have to feel pressured by it.

Ah.. now Genshinken and Alien Nine... I can see some dot connects there but the other references (typical school life?) had me trying to compare apples with taiyaki --- yeah, they're both food but....

(apologies for the 50% guess wrong chance on "girl/boy")

I'll be the first to concede that MoSH doesn't yet rate "best anime in history" -- that gets too often tossed on the hot anime of the moment. But I can't really concede it is "average" ... maybe I've seen enough gut-rot stinking anime to move MoSH on the right half of the bell curve at least.

I should reveal I actually couldn't stand anime until a few years ago --- hated the stuff because I thought it was only people shouting, posturing, and blowing things up. Every time someone sat me down to watch "this is so great" it was more of the Loud and Shallow. Then I started getting leads to some really *good* anime that actually defined their characters, developed them, and built relationships and my response was "wow, I can't even find much of this on American tv".

The "cute" doesn't interest me as much as the elements that compare with Slaughterhouse Five or Hitchhiker's Guide or other science fantasy classics. The combination of anime-cute and those elements are bonus points ... and if one prefers the guys, both Kyon and Itsuki are portrayed as someone actually nice to be around (unlike many anime male leads). But I do concede that some back part of my brain responds to Mikuru's "hic-squeak" of panic .. and Suzumiya and Kyon remind me of my wife and I (though I've settled into my role whereas Kyon hasn't gotten to see much of the plus-side of being around Suzumiya).

Heh. Yeah, sometimes I can't see how the popular anime got to be so popular. Like Naruto, I don't know how that's still popular but it is x_X And Chrno Crusade, I must say, the art is pretty, but it just didn't really appeal to me like it did others. And the anime aired here in the US is just milking the money out of a series that should've died long ago.

But, yes people, thanks for trying to convert and brainwash me. But I think I'll just try and stick it out through the end, even if it kills me so.

Every series has it's fans and haters. And who knows? Maybe one of these episodes will enlighten me ;o

There are always the haters that remain haters and those that convert. WHICH WILL I BE, I WONDER?

But I think that most haters only watched episode 1, which led them to the conclusion that MoSH SUCKS HAIRY MONKEY BUTT. Episode one was weird >_>; It took me to a flash back to 7th grade and video production DX Oh so silly video production was ;o

Well episode 0 is like a test, a bold move from kyoani. If a person fully enjoyed episode 0 and understood totally what happened, its a sure sign he will like the show. If one likes the episode and also noticed that the episode is more than what it actually is, this means the person is an instant haruhist. If one finds the episode boring and pointless, it means this person is not born to be a haruhist.

Maybe its in the genes. A Haruhiism gene or something.
