Yep,this is exactly how mines are used in logh.I say it again,Logh ep 71 the battle of Mar adetta.

And as reinloch said, smart mines are already used in the navy.

Actuall the original poster ask for anime that had the best representation of space battles not the best looking space warfare.

And here is what here wrote:

Just as a general question for the fun of it....

What do you think was the anime that had the best representation of space battles?

over all I think Banner/ crest of the stars did, it just seamed the most realistic compared to fleets and strategies.

the sphere around the battle wasn’t very realalistic but it centered your atention
It looks to me the original post was for anime with the most realistic space battles and strategies.

so you are as off topic as those guys who are discussing mines in space.

I'm apologize for myself and the rest of us for being too intelligent for your feeble mental faculties to grasp. It must suck to be so stupid and hardly understand anything any reasonably intelligent and mature person says or writes. But hey, look on the bright side: you may be stupid and ignorant, but at least you are a humanitarian, what with your dedicated concern for "anime sci fi ware fare (welfare)." I forsee you being an inspirational leader of some random loony socialist political cult sometime in the future. Good luck!

well I made the subject and I say talking about strategic future to present weponry is what I asked for on the off branch BUT how it relates ot an animes war fair.

So its not to far off toppic and I dont mind and I also get off subject to.

Now, I think smart mines are a very good way to go and if you have thrusters on the sides for random movement they would be very hard to hit or like on banner of the stars the mines seperated when shot at making more targets and suprise attacks.

now the best way to deal with mines would most likly be a disrupter feild that sends the off target or harder to get a target lock

To date, I've only seen 1 show that had a true to life and using real physics depiction of a battle in space- Planetes. The first incident was the defensive weapons of a space station attempting to stop a rogue ship from crashing into it. They were using an array of railgun armed satelites but failed to hit because of the high speed of the missile. The solution to this really came out from the left field. The second event for this show was a melee battle between astronauts. Fighting in zero g with glue and bolt guns and knocking out one another through inventive use of innerita.

IMO, one of the six "perfect 10" anime (meaning, to me, that they have appeal even to people who don't like anime).

Also, about the only remotely realistic one I can remember, but it's really set more in the near future than the far future which makes it easier to call "realistic".

you have a point since it is much closer to todays teck it seams more realalistic but others just seam out there but WE have no idea what may be realilistic in the future

like in the future they will consider us low teck drouling savages and collect are articacts
(which will be beer cans and none biodigrateable baby dipers)
(witch means they will think Bud Wiser was our KING!)

and did you all know we actualy have working rail guns today, they used one in WW11 but there to big right now to use efectively.

You're thinking of "Big Bertha," the giant artillery the Germans used in World War One fired from a railroad. (I'm not going to get into whether Big Bertha is the correct name, etc. It's the Paris Gun.)

That's different from the the sci-fi railgun.

This is a gun that fires a high-speed projectile using electro-magnetic coils.

You can google all this I think.
