Data entities might not see eye-to-eye to the espers but the 'esper' factor to them possibly is of negligable impact to the overall scheme of things on their part. Internal dissidents if anything would be an issue with this stagnated but very advanced 'being'. Afterall, their foresignt that comes for their superior intelligence is 'beyond human comprehension'. (Time-travelling is no difficult feat to the data-entities so for them they are only dealing with humans from an alternate plane and it's unknown whether or not if time means anything to the data-entities as human beings are)

The Espers have every reason to distrust the rest of them. I coined the term 'phantasm' since that is the very state of the esper's and everyone else's existence to the perspective of the Espers. If they themselves and the 2 other factions are but figments of Haruhi's reverie, they might as well as to conclude that the worse-case is the same for all parties despite whatever interests besuit them.

I agree though that a detante is in order due to the stakes that are involved, the mutual agreements to the importance of Suzumiya Haruhi, the anomoly that is Kyon, the fact that all of them are now sitting at the same table... having 'fun' with Haruhi as the orchestrator of it all. All sides are aware of each other's capabilities to an extent which leaves Kyon as the only force out in the open to act.

If Kyon can act. Haruhi, if a god however, well,.. as the gut says, that act is good. Haruhi brought them together ...the quake, that data, the time block. End it too quickly, and the fun would be gone. If Kyon can act.

Gave a 10. Definitely brilliant, though I didn't get a word of what Nagato was saying. I think I'll watch it once more. To me, the best part of the episode is Itsuki's introduction. I didn't read the whole thread but it seems so one mentioned it.
I think it makes more sense than the two others and opens up, in a easiest way, so everyone (even slow guys like me...) can understand the whole plot of things to come. Actually, i really went "woa" while watching it. Brilliant, original, smart, fun, perfect plot. So 10.

And if some people feel a bit lost, I guess that's part of the fun. I mean, if Kyon understood everything that was happening to him, I'd be worried about my mental capacities. lol. But he doesn't. So it's OK. To me the whole Nagato's speach is like a Liszt's piano piece. You can't hear all of it but on the whole, it sounds f... impressive. Virtuoso's style.

Let's just give a big big hand to everyone at a.f.k. ^^ Such an ep. is insane.
I understand why they sort of dropped Aniyoko for a while.
Though i love them very much, I'll just wait for Ami-chin and her friends a bit more. Haruhi and Kyon come first.

Well, I'm in the middle of a rewatch marathon, I noticed something trival in episode 5, so I decided to bump the thread lol.

For those who know, you will know if you know:

I was scrutinising every single detail in Yuki's house when she is revealing her identity to Kyon. Could it be that door behind Yuki? Could that room be it? The door is closed, that's why Kyon didn't noticed it, maybe?

I was hoping more could be seen from the multiple viewing angles of her apartment during the conversation. We don't see the kitchen, the bedroom and there's just a closed door.

Well, that's about it, if you didn't get anything from those spoilers, its alright. Ignorance is bliss lol
