Movie Encode

I have a 700mb divx movie that I want to resize and place on a dvd

I am using avisynth but the movie screen size is 768x432 and I am not sure what borders to add

When i have a 640x480 episode, i use this script:
AVISource("C:\episode.avi")
Lanczos4Resize(640,480)
AddBorders(48,32,48,32)

and this works great.

Any ideas for the script I would use for the movie??

Well, you have a 9:16 video instead of a 3:4 video, so you don't need to add any border to the top and bottom, since there'll ample black space because of the letterbox. You should add 5-10% to the left and right sides though.

so it should look like this

AVISource("C:\movie.avi")
Lanczos4Resize(768,432)
AddBorders(0,48,0,48)

Would that be good.. or too much?

AVISource("C:\movie.avi")
AddBorders(40,24,40,24)
Normalize

will add border (~5%) and keep the aspect ratio closer to what it should be when your DVD burner program resizes it to DVD format sizeing.

Your Lanczos4Resize is just redundant since it's already that size when you use the command meaning nothing changes.

Actually I have a Divx DVD player so I was just looking to resize the movie and then play it so I could see the subtitles

I am assuming what you gave me will still work?

Actually when i use the script above, it has these small horz. white lines on the right side of the picture.
Why is that?

Well i tried encoding at the new size and the DVD player won't play it

If I try letting the burn software put it on a disc the movie goes from 700mb to 6.2GB!!!

Is it possible that the divx encoded movie is a different version of divx...?
I really am lost

Any suggestions would be helpful
??
