How manny seeders were there? How manny peers? What ISP do you use (is on this list?). There are a lot of factors.

Most clients have some sort of indicator showing if you're firewalled/NATed. It'll likely be yellow or red if that's the case. Green means you're not. I think even BitTorrent will show you that much.

You can find out the number of peers and seeds on a torrent just by looking it up on animesuki (assuming it's listed here). Or go to the tracker site. Most of them also display that info.

Well, I doubt it's any worse, and you'll have access to a lot more information. And yes, you can resume torrents with any client. I'm not sure of the exact procedure with uTorrent, so you'll have to look that up on your own (or some other kind soul here may give you the answer).

Well I'm using BitTorrent and it appears I killed the NAT problem that I had but I keep getting low speeds ranging from 3KB to 10 KB.I've been researching port forwarding and I did all that was recommended....

Mushishi is really the only thing I've been downloading and I always get more than 50% of people beeing seeders. So what's up??

Hmmm... Interesting. Try changing your BT client, I suggest Azereus. I'm also on a 512K connection, and with a good number of seeders I can get up to 140KB/s.

So in your case, it's possible that the seeders is a problem. If not then are you behind a router or something?

I'd suggest Utorrent. www.portforward.com helps, if you're behind a router. Use Bittornado to check if you're being firewalled.

I am behind a router but this is the only computer connected to it (via wireless).

I tried portforwarding and I think i idid everything right since I no longer get NAT/firewall messages.

Limit your upload to about 80% of your max. If it keeps uploading at max it will slow down your whole connection.

Try port forwarding. You don't have a NAT problem, as the green face is always on, which means your connection is healthy. I don't know, once you can't get it right the first time, you can try again.

try downloading something popular and see if u get at least 30k downloads, somthing like 1000 people are also downloading.

now you ARE uploading at least 10kb right?

another thing, i didnt see your ISP name?

you may want to ask yoru ISP to reset the connection. one time i installed the bittorent on a friend using grande cable and he would always D/C when using bittorent. after the connection was reset by the provider it worked normal and no problems.

Try using BitSpirit and enable the NAT Traversal and torrent header encryption (I think that's what it's called) option, it might help your speed.

Avoid normal Bittorrent always. Get a community modded one or mod one yourself.
