I wouldn't say Jack is just a Chimney Sweep. A jack is often a very skilled craftsman, such as a Steeplejack, someone who builds or maintains very tall structures (in the classic sense, this would mostly mean churches and other such structures).

Peasant... maybe, but if you were a steeplejack you'd be a fairly high standing peasent (lol, pun not intended, honestly).

How's it pronounced? Like "Ir-dsha" or like "Ir-ja".
Russian or Swedisch: it is a great name; all the more cause it means 'peace'. We need more Irinas these days ...

My real name is Ansar.

If I recall from what my parents told me, it means "Allah's helper" in Arabic.

Vidar is the name
From the Old Norse Varr, which is possibly derived from vr "forest" and arr "warrior". In Norse mythology Varr was the son of Odin and Grid. At the time of the end of the world, the Ragnarok, he will avenge his father's death.

"Who is like God?" This is the name of one of the seven archangels in Hebrew tradition and the only one identified as an archangel in the Bible. In the Book of Revelation in the New Testament he is portrayed as the leader of heaven's armies, and thus is considered the patron saint of soldiers. This was also the name of nine Byzantine emperors and a czar of Russia. Should be easy to guess, heh.

Well... My name means Praised. My second name means Happy and Victorious. And no, I won't put the names here. I'm simply typing the meanings. My maiden name is Italian, but changed a bit and I have no idea what it means. Hubby's last name means something like between rivers. I think that's what okaasan told me about the Kanjis...

R = soft rolling sound using the tongue rather than the hard 'arr' sound we use in English

So it would be pronounced pretty much like Ilya in Fate/ Stay Night?

Not really. I thought about it but Ilya has a clear /i/ there, not a "y" from yeah sound. That j probably sounds like the German j in "ja".

Nobody actually knows where my name comes from...

I favour the theory that it derives from an Irish name meaning 'greatness', obviously
