Record of Lodoss War

Hi! I want to write somethin' about Record of Lodoss War

Does anybody know this? It's my favorite. Genre: Fantasy, and it's like those Role-Play-games.
I love this, and there's a german version of the OVA-DVDs! ^^
Yes, I'm german, but I hope, I understand something of your postings... v.v

I really liked Lodoss too, but it has been awhile since I have seen it.
It was a very nice piece of Quest style fantasy.

Pirotess was one of my favorite characters from Lodoss, she was a very tragic figure. But very alluring too.

Hey has anyone read/seen record of lodoss war.

this is a good seris about a fantasy world with dragons, warriors, and wizards.

unfortunatly i've only seen the first season.

The first season about the cepter of domination but before whatever they do to all those dragons and stuff.

Also if you have seen the seris you see alot of fighting. There is a scary preist
But it's still a really good seris.

note to you if you watch the seris to avoid the theme song.it will kill you it's really boring and kind of weird.i felt i needed someone to save me from it when i lost my dvd remote (my dvd player doesent have skip or fast forward on the box.

besides that it was perfect seris. It has beautiful art, good artwork, and a great characters and plot.

The original 13-episode OVA for Record of Lodoss War (ROLW) was probably the better of the two series. It had a deeper story, more involving characters, and better action than the "sequel" , Chronicles of the Heroic Knight.

Oh, the manga (more approriately. SET of manga series) is available somewhere, but since it's licensed, I can't tell you, sorry!

wow, it's been awhile since I revisited this series... *sweeps the back of his mind*
There are several mangas but the series is based off a novel series IIRC...

The manga that I know of... (I cannot recall if these are the correct titles)

Demon of Flames
A very short 2 book series, about how Deed gets Jinn and Ifliet during the civil war between the Fire & Wind Tribes of Kasshuu's kingdom. I like this one a lot. =) This takes place right after the Grey Witch storyline (the first one)

Lady of Pharis
About the 6 Heroes and how the Demonic Blade, Soulcrusher (think it was called), falls in the hands of the King of Mamou (actually, it's more how becomes the king). This is very good. I like it a lot, probably my fav of the series.

Deedlit Monogatari
I can't remember if that was correct title. It was something along those lines. The time frame is when Pan just comes back to his village a few months before the actual storyline for the Chronicles start.

Welcome to Lodoss Isle!
4koma shorts.

Then there are the two obvious ones Lodoss Wars (the Grey Witch) and Chronicles of a Heroic Knight both which the animes is based off on (actually, I think the anime came first then these later - it's all based off the novels). ^^;

There's also another story about the main land, Ryuuve, I believe it was called - there is an anime about this too. It's the same world, same gods, but Ryuuve is heavily comedy based. It's about a good-for-nothing wizard who has the body-build of a knight, yet is force to be in the school of magic b/c of his father's position in the school, iirc. I didn't read much of this one.

There's also a novel where Ryuuve goes to Lodoss Isle and meets Pan. I bought it for my friend, haven't read it for myself.

I buy these books at my local bookstore, I have no idea where you can get them off the internet. Maybe try foogle? yesasia? Kinokuniya or Asahiya shouten websites? I'm sure many of these have been officially translated so there should be English releases, maybe German as well as it is one of the more successful anime titles. Maybe try your local comic book store for these titles...

Yep, LostBlue, those are all the mangas for ROLW! ( and it's Deedlit's Tale, which is close enough! )

And ALL of these mangas are completed and available for download somewhere...

And interesting enough, the english version of the manga is available for purchase. Though that is a foreign idea to some. I have most of it in a box somewhere.

In many ways, the TV series was closer to the manga stories then the OVA though the OVA was done better (though I'm ignoring all the still frame animation which cheapened the OVA a bit). I personally enjoy the OSTs to both versions.
