I'm just getting more and more confused by the whole asosbrigade deal. It's hard to tell if all of this is really official and will end up on the final DVDs (in the case of the voice polls)... but at least it's fun and it doesn't go unnoticed. Well, just like everything Haruhi's done so far.

I voted for #3 as the American Yuki - she was definitely the most emotionless person. #1 also did a good job but her lines didn't sound as monotonous. At least this cast sounds much more fitting to me, compared to the previous American Mikuru.

Haha, I went with three too. I went with one of the less popular options with Mikuru (4, I think) but I'm with the majority on Yuki, that voice seemed to fit the best. Although all of them try to sound too robotic which I think is a huge mistake.

I voted 2 for Mikuru and 1 for Yuki. I had to listen to both 1 and 3 carefully though before deciding on the first. Since Bandai's doing all this stuff, I hope they'll give some decent extras for the DVD releases. I hated buying the My-HiME DVD and only getting the DVD and a blank inside...

You mean you didn't notice all the 'EXTRAS' at the end of each episode and stored separately on the disk?

I meant extras not on the dvd itself. When I open the case and don't see a little paper thing, I somehow feel like I bought a bootleg or something. I like the extras after each ep, of course.

I agree that good inserts show that a little more care has been taken with the release. However, not all inserts are good, worthwhile inserts. I'd rather kill fewer trees and not have inserts at all than have a single sheet of paper that tells me (for instance) when the next DVDs are being released or the titles of the episodes on the disc.

Of course, I fully expect Haruhi's DVD release to come with the works--reversible DVD cover, a nice fat insert, etc etc.

I've just gotten into the show and have been watching it in japanese with english subtitles. It is really good anime and the best i have seen in a long time. I'm about 3/4 through the series.

(claps for Lujia) I really do think pretty highly of this series as a science fiction comedy romance..... a bit of Hitchhiker's Guide, a bit of Twilight Zone, a bit of subversive spin on the "harem cliches", and a lot of nice "lets turn this character archetype on its head".
Nice production values, nice singing, nice voice actor characterization.

Just a win for for people who enjoy those things I mentioned above.
Hope you enjoy the "end"... be sure and watch in Kyon order later

Yeah i love it how it can be sooo serious like nagato is hell serious and then that ending comes up with the trippy music and everyone is dancing. Does anyone know why they have the different order?

heheheh sounds like theres gonna be a new poll for a new set of sample VA's soon
maybe for Kyon's voice?!
or maybe Koizumi's voice....

but as for me, i voted #2 for Mikuru's VA and #3 for Yuki's VA
though #1 sounded pretty good also for Yuki
but i think it would kinda fit this situation more better if they would add in the background music into these sample voices
i think it would make the decision making a bit easier for us fans....

I also voted #2 for Mikuru and #3 for Yuki. Although Yuki was a much harder decision -- both had a good presentation, I just felt that #3 had vocal qualities more suited to Yuki.

A good combination would be volume 4, Disappearance as the main bulk of the season, with Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody and Melancholy of Asahina Mikuru. Mikuru didn't do much in this 1st season, she needs to show up more in the 2nd since she's tied to the plot so heavily. We need more time travelling goodness.

Then throw in Endless Eight and Snow Mountain Syndrome and this season would really be a blast.
