I very rarely remember my dreams and these are the only two I remember vividly from the entire year:

In the first one my parents are driving me to my highschool reunion. Why I couldn't drive myself, no idea. I get to the reunion and everyone is wearing black suits and black dresses and it feels like some people died inbetween graduation and the reunion as there are pictures of them with flowers and stuff around them. We all file into an auditorium and have a seat and start watching a movie. Apparently it is tradition to watch Goldeneye....the James Bond movie. Only in this version of Goldeneye, instead of Xenia and Natalya as the bond girls, its Halle Berry as Jinx from another James Bond movie, Die Another Day. Anyway, while watching the movie we get to a scene where there is this army of Native Americans walking through the ocean. The ocean is only up to their waist and they are just marching through it. The person im sitting next to turns to me and says "Weren't you in Goldeneye?" I say yeah and I pick out the only white guy in this mass of 200+ Indians. I see Ralph Wiggum from The Simpsons dressed in Indian garb saying "My cat's breath smells like catfood" and I wake up.

Next one I had was about a week ago. I was in a casinos movie theater and I was watching Rocky Balboa. The movie is on for awhile and then the film breaks. I get annoyed and leave along with everyone, going outside the casino. Outside of the casino it is like a fair or amusement park or something. I see some food vendors and then im back in the movie theater and Rocky Balboa is starting again. I get distracted by a couple of movie attendants carrying a paraplegic black man. For some reason instead of setting him in a chair, they set him in the aisle and give him a pillow to lie on. He responds to this by saying "Are you fucking kidding me?" Then I wake up.

Seems like all I dream about is movies, tv, and games. When I was like 10 and Mortal Kombat had just come out, my mom woke me up because I was talking loudly in my sleep what buttons to press for moves and fatalities. No idea if I still talk during my sleep, I hope not. A friend of mines ex-husband used to shout SUCK MY C*** in the middle of the night while he slept and it would wake up her daughters.

EDIT: Added 12/13 - My alarm went off and I turned it off and went back to sleep for an hour and half and had another dream since I was more lucid. Maybe writing about them is helping also. Again, it was heavily influenced by anime, movies, tv, and games. Its more fragmented than the others.

Me and my sister were with my dad and he had to go talk to some woman. We enter a submarine (had just watched Black Lagoon where they raid a sub for a painting) and to my left there is a little memorial to some dead crew members. I wrote a note that says "Good Job" and put it next to the pictures of the deceased. We navigate through the sub and we enter a wood house with the woman he needs to talk to and some other people. He tells me and my sister to have a seat and we do, but once we sit down hes already done talking to her and we leave. We get through the front door and we are in a forest. We walk on a trail through the forest for a bit and I feel guilt for leaving the Good Job note, then the scene changes.

I am now in a hallway in like an apartment complex with a woman in front of me leading me. There are three people ahead of us, one of which has a gun. The other two look unarmed but are bad as well. I advance past the woman leading me and stick a needle in the guy with the gun's neck. (Haven't seen Kiss of the Dragon in a long time but I guess thats what influenced that.) I look at him and watch as he gets woozy and passes out. I do this to the other two and the woman leading me gets annoyed. The bodies vanish and I tell her it wasn't lethal, the bodies begin to materialize back and scene changes again.

Its now me, my mom, and my step dad at the bar of a restaurant. We are all watching Twin Peaks on the bar tv. (In my mind all of this is making sense and at this point the last two scenes also took place on this episode of Twin Peaks.) I hear someone say "Yeah this was a good show in the 60's." I think to myself "Idiot, it was made in 1990." We watch the tv and theres a stream with a large boulder in the middle of the screen and some personal pan pizzas to the left of it. My mom says she needs a bigger pan, indicating she was the one who made the pizzas. The boulder is alive and appears to be talking but no sound is coming out.

In the next scene Cooper from Twin Peaks is on a radio urging a woman driving to pull over while she is on her cell phone. (Cooper is the only one in my dream that is actually in the show. I think this scene happened because I had watched Everest: Beyond the Limit before going to bed and in that episode Russell is urging two of the guys to come back). She crashes her car and Cooper is now in the road and sitting down on his ass. A woman gets out of the car and goes to Cooper and points a gun at him. Another woman comes out of nowhere and points a gun at her. A shot is fired and blood and brain go on the back of the car which makes no sence unless Cooper shot her. The camera pans down and Cooper is holding a sawed off shotgun but it has a ceiling fan attached to the front of it. My mom at the bar says "Tom Hanks makes gadgets like that too." Then I wake up. I guess Cooper got the drop on her using a shotgun disguised as a ceiling fan.

While I was taking a nap yesterday I dreamt that I was trying to get into the upstairs bathroom, but when I finally got the door open it ended up being a fake bathroom, and then there was another door in the back that opened up into another bathroom, one after another, each becoming more like the "true" bathroom until I finally made it to the real one.... then I woke up.

When I was younger I had two reccurring dreams... One where I could never get away from a giant owl, and another where I was being chased by bad guys through a never ending waterpark.

I have a weird recurring dream. I'm traveling down a road, in the backseat of a car, staring up at the sky. Telephone lines (gently sloping) pass by on the right side, and everything is grey-cast. There's no color to speak of. Then when I reach the end of the road, there's a cave on the right. We turn in, there's darkness, and then I wake up.

Isn't that weird?

Lucid Dreaming

This morning, I had an amazing lucid dream. I was about to wake up during a regular dream, but suddenly realized I was dreaming. I eventually coaxed myself into thinking my eyes were open when they were actually shut, and started to modify the dream as I saw fit. I was able to hover above the ground and jump great distances. I was able to see this one girl I met a while ago and haven't seen for a while. We just flew around, completely free and happy. It was the most amazing thing, even though I've had lucid dreams before. It has motivated to more actively pursue lucid dreaming as an actual goal.

Anyone else have lucid dreams and/or dream control? If so, what types of techniques do you use to induce lucidity?

LOL....I know all too well about this and know several techniques aswell...

When I was a soph in college a few years back me and my frat-brother read up on it and challenged each other to use all the techniques we learned about lucidity in dreaming...It was really an incredible experience but it does take work and tons of patience (also trial and error)...The reason I stopped is because it became too time consuming and like most young men I have a natural ADD that takes my attention to something else...It was basically just a fad, and lucid dreaming isn't very easy to achieve (especially if you don't faithfully use these techniques) but here's some advice...

-Start a dream journal and everyday you wake up before you do anything else write down as much as you can remember this will aid you in recall (Very important!!)...Always read the journal too when you have a chance because your dream recall will get incredible after a while...Few people realize that they dream 5, 6 times a night and just remember the last dream (After a while I would remember all my dreams)...The better you are at dream recall, the better your lucidity will become...

-Give yourself reminders 5-10 times everyday...this will create triggers that alert you that you are sleeping...Look at yourself in the mirror and tell yourself that you are sleeping...Click the lightswitch in your room several times a day and when you dream of your lightswitch you'll become Lucid...Talk to yourself several times a day looking at your hands asking yourself if you are dreaming...(The more you do this, the more you'll get triggers in your dreams that alert you that you are sleeping--I must repeat if you don't do this faithfully it wont work as well)

-When you realize you are dreaming don't get excited or it will dissapear because you will be to close to actual conciousness....The best technique for stopping yourself from waking up is to violently spin around in the dreamworld--This will stop you from waking up in most cases (Trust me it has worked for me)...

-Get a friend to do it with you...Now you might not wanna ask a friend who thinks stuff like this is insane, but ask somebody who you think will find this interesting because it's that motivation that keeps you doing the techniques...

-Finally, be confident and tell yourself you are gonna do it...As you lay down for sleep think about what you want to dream about and tell yourself you will become lucid because the more it's on your mind the more it will happen...

I also have some other techniques I can't really mention in the genral forum ...

I did this for almost a year and had some of the most incredible dreams of life culminating in this absurdly ridiculous Dragonball Z type of dream I had where I was flying with speed and invincibility feeling it all in a 100% real-state..I mean when I flew close to the water huge waves were being made because of my speed....I was making zig-zags at top speed, punching $hit it was so fun....I also had dreams where I would float around looking at my dream world like a ghost creeping up on people, walking thru walls and snooping on people...I've had dreams of using super speed and whole lot of other stuff directly related to the amount of anime I watched...I also had many dreams too which are unbelievably fun lmao....Pretty soon you'll be able to change any scenerio in your dream with ease (Like one time this cop pulled a gun on me and I laffed because I knew I was dreaming and made the gun dissapear from his hand into mines )...

One more thing to try when you're Lucid is to read any words you see in the dream...You see the part of the brain that is used for reading isn't used in dreaming so if you see a Pepsi bottle in your dream when you read it it'll say something like Pcpz1 (But it will look almost exactly the same)..It's really hilarious because no matter how hard you try you can't change this and I've tried...I even dreamed I was in a supermarket and every label looked exactly like it did in the real world but with funny lettering xD....

After I stopped doing the Lucid Techniques for about 2 weeks I stopped having the dreams so it does take effort...But it pays-off, it just became too time-consuming to keep up and still have a normal life for me and my bro...Try it out for a while it's ten times cooler than any of the current bull$hit out today like for example a damn 500$ mobile phone with a keyboard and Tv screen ...

Who am I kidding I want one of those phones ....

Heh, I used to get these. Never had to work to it though, it was always in the last part of summer holidays where I did just about nothing and had to force myself to go to sleep for the sake of it. Usually took a while, but every often I'd get them. And yeah, they are awesome. Ever since I've stopped getting like 12 hours sleep a night I've stopped having them though Oh well, least I had the experience I guess.

I guess I should have mentioned there's a difference between simply being Lucid in your dreams which just means you are aware that you are dreaming and lucid control which is a far more in-depth experience...Everyone has lucid dreams from time to time, but just being half-aware isn't the same as taking complete control because you can be lucid yet still be incapable of doing anything but running the coarse of the dream...This is common, but dream-control takes a degree of effort for most (I mean there are some mutant freaks out there that probably don't need to do as much as others though^^)...I mean monks and others who participate in meditative ventures can do things 100 times more incredible than dream-control in the form of astro-projection, but as I've read it takes supreme discipline to even come close to this level so this amount of effort to reach the basic level of what I described is worth it for some...As I've said, even I tired of the whole technique thing, but it works and it's undeniably fun if you have the time to do it...Hell I wish I didn't stop because having to pay bills in this real world makes me wish I could escape via ZZzzZz-lucidity...

Now i remember one of my science teacher talking about a device you wear to sleep that can induce this "lucid" feeling or controled dreaming you are talking about. Though i have no idea what's this device is called.

Personally for me, I can't control my dreams really that much. There has have some dreams that i can totally overcome and control them, but over all 98% of all my dreams happen without me noticing that i'm asleep, dreaming away.

^There is a device that gives off light beeps that you can only hear in your dreams, but it was far too expensive for any college kids just fooling around to get...I wouldn't waste my ramen money on something like that anyways...But to just keep a journal and do some brainless techniques that paid dividens was cool...and like anything else in life you get tired of it and move on to something else...

There is a device called Molechaser (something to scare mole away), which uses anoying peeps. Such a device is installed next to my window. It prevends dreaming, because it prevents sleeping (quite successful).

Wingdarkness, you sound like a pro at this. I tried to keep a journal once too, but like most people, I thought it was way too much trouble. And I never discover I'm dreaming from using reality checks. It's usually that I feel like I'm waking up, and I just make myself stay asleep.

Sometimes, I use external sounds though. While I dream, I can still here ambient sounds in the background. If I set a soft alarm, I can learn to associate that sound with reality, even though it can become deeply integrated into the dream, i.e. hearing police sirens.

I didn't know that this was something you had to work towards. o_O I have control over things almost every time I dream--it's very rare that I don't. I can also read in dreams which I'm told is supposed to be really hard. It's not something I remember actually conciously trying to do; it's just always been that way.

Maybe I'm a freak.

I mean have you tried the reality checks? You have to do it constantly...I thought it was a joke at first then I had my first Lucid control dream thanx to the fact I saw my lightswitch in the dream and when I clicked it it reminded me...I was all like "Damn this $hit worked!" in the week's to follow looking at my hands would do it or I'd see myself in a reflection and that would do it...So those reminders work...It's not to hard to become a pro if you wanna have amazing dreams and dream-control...Most people I know don't even remember or think about there dreams and have no clue how much fun it is to control them...Maybe I'll et back into it, but the key to dreaming lucid is recall, and only a journal can help you achieve that....

Yeah, there are many people, "naturals," that are biologically more capable of lucid dreaming and dream control than most people. Guess you're one of the lucky few, Llama.

Yeah reading uses the other side of the brain, Batman taught me that. In one ep of the cartoon the Riddler put him into like a dream prison and Batman didn't know he was asleep until he tried reading his morning newspaper and all the letters were scrambled. He realized he was in a dream and jumped from a tall building committing suicide in the dream and woke up. Most badass ep of Batman ever.
