hmmm Aria is a relaxing anime...

maybe similar to mahoraba is Kamichu and Ichigo Mashimaro

REC is a short mini-series that is faster paced but still a nice romantic comedy.

Lamune is definitely relaxing ... straight on romance (harem aspects crushed to focus on one romance), a plus in my book.

Kamichu! (licensed and for sale) is an excellent relaxing little series with some qualities that rival Miyazaki in atmosphere. Strawberry Marshmallow (ichigo masimaro)(licensed/for sale) is quite a relaxing subtle pack of humor as well.

How about Magikano? Its a little on the crazy site but I think it's the closest you can get next to Mahoraba.

magikano is the opposite of relaxing. loved ichigo mashimaro and thought rec was okay. will probably peep kamichu, lamune and maybe aria

one thing i like about mahoraba is it's not a typical harem where all the characters are attracted to the main character. they all have their own stories and also their stories aren't particularly stupid or fantastic.
