Of course, there's no rule that says you are forced to, but I think it would be easier to have a structure to work with, before you move on to colors and effects.

You know, something like this:
![]() I just feel it's a bit easier to work on an area (i.e: the hair) when said area is outlined. It's also a great way to hide all those little out-of-place bits of color that are left here and there. Again, this is just my way of doing things. You can try and develop your own style for a while before checking the ways other people use.

![]() is it really so bad? All it needs is patience and effort and a cup of coffee. Quote:
Breakdown: ![]() No outlines^^ just a whole lot of shapes. If you put all of those together, you'll get the final image (without eyes)

I have always done paths, so I always start with outlines before anything else. From your pic, it would seem that Shana is trying something similar, wich just makes me more interested in seeing the work completed.

Your Saber sigs and avatars are really good!!!!!! I recommend to use Gradient tool with a really dark blue to light blue or white for your sky in your wallpaper. Also, use different colors of green (mostly a dark to regular green). For cloud, try to look for brushes on graphic site. This might help to improve your wallie. I maybe not be that experienced but it help me. Don't worry, I screwed up on my first wallpaper with grass too. Here you can see.
![]() Anyways, keep up with the great work!!!!!
