Finished the game today. That was truly excellent. I loved the "cartoon" feel of the game. Pretty much everything about it was crazy: the character design, the villain, the setting. And yet it was very serious and tragic at the same time. The notion of despair was definitely present.
I wish the cases had been a bit harder (some of them were ridiculously easy), but they were really well-thought and it was always satisfying to solve them. The main flaw of the game lies in the free time events. There is a ridiculously low amount of them, requiring the player to replay the first chapters tons of times in order to get to know the characters better, which I believe is important. It would have made the player feel even more despair to see characters he got to know very well die. As for the plot... Spoiler for Big spoilers for the whole game:
