I do prefer Capcom's model for SFIV over Blazblue though... ignoring Vanilla because it wasn't designed to be upgraded... You can upgrade from Super to AE (AE2012 free balance) to Ultra (plus free balance coming next year) from your Super Disc.... or you can jump in with a retail disc @ AE or now Ultra.... but Blazblue needs to push a new story so they go retail... I expect Guilty Gear to be the same.

Eh, we still don't know if BBCP 2.0 is going to be a DLC or not.

Would be pretty damn stupid of them to pull another Extend, though if they want to piss off Blazblue players with yet another $60 game for 2 characters (one is a clone too boot) they're welcome too.

It's weird shit because many players proclaim Extend as the most balanced BlazBlue. Some people have even said they're going to switch to the PC version of Extend that's coming out on Steam in a few days because they're not happy with BBCP2.0.

BBCP 2.0 is only available for the arcade version atm, IIRC.

don't ignore Extend, it's still an update. GGX and GGXX had something like this too, and they even have more updates

although I'm not sure of the intervals between updates for these 2

Might be the case, but when I say pull an Extend I mean charge $40 for a revision and 1 DLC character.

Extends the only Blazblue disc release I haven't bought. Thought it was bullshit that they did that... didn't help that Arcade Edition had a free balance patch like 4 days before Extend came out in Japan.

A quick heads-up: some places actually have both the PS3 and PS4 versions of the game available early.

The japanese version of the game has been out for almost a week, if not a week already. The game patched and it contained English text and voices. It's not region locked too. If you wanna play the game already, just buy the japanese version and patch it. You don't have to wait for the R1

I am honestly amazed that Daisuke managed to answer a lot of the questions that the fans had been asking for the past 10 years with a very simple answer: "It is all enlightenment's fault."

You can expect her to be playable or at least make an appearance on the next game. The Colony and the Japanese are, most probably, gonna have a huge role in the upcoming story for the next game because of the things that happened in the ending of the story mode in Xrd

Netcode has mixed reviews, especially in light of arcsys previous works.

Apparently there's a bug where PS4 players always show up as 4 bars regardless of their actual connection quality when you play against them on the PS3 version. The reverse is apparently not true, PS3 player connections show up correctly in the PS4 version.
