iirc the reason he didn't want to focus on that was because its longer and difficult for him to translate, don't quote me on that though, It's been awhile since he told me so I might remember wrong... I could just ask him later though.

Speaking in general, I want the MC to seem real. Often they seem like a collection of traits. For "donkan MCs" I think the main issue with them is that it often just seems to be there to drag out certain story elements, generally "romance".

"Donkan" almost always seems to refer to characters who can't perceive what other characters feel torwards them, rather than being "donkan" in general (eg Tilea's Worries). From that point of view I don't think "tsundere" is much different, though energetic denial tends to be a bit more interesting that passive ignorance.

Anyway, he gets OP by giving it much more effort than others.

Right now I am searching for a series with self centered protagonist. He does not have to bo arrogant and I don't care whether he is good or bad, but he has to act for himself.
Good example of that is Yaritsukai's MC, he is good (somwhere reaaaly deep down) but acts for his own interests. He is not saving the world (at least he is not trying to achieve that), he is not acting for the greater good, he is not even saving people right and left just because it is the right thing, etc. Are there any such series?

The only two decent series I've read lately: n4875cl and n3710cd

The first one is one of the better protrayals of how isekai slave systems are meant to be used and despite the fact that the MC makes nothing but soap throughout is surprisingly good. Shonin/naisei nariagari.

MC tries to remain faithful to main heroine but gives into one mistress who is pretty aggressive in not letting him get away and on good terms with the main wife. It's only 60 chapters though it's completed and has a solid ending. It's by the author who did that one orphan series with the griffon so some have probably seen it.

Other one is naisei/nariagari, MC has no cheats and is dorei start, similar to karma tower, he impersonates a noble, though it's not as mindfuck crazy as karma tower. MC is pretty intelligent and manages to maintain his unstable position even after being revealed through various negotiations/lies.

I'm not usually a fan of series where characters ride dragons, though the dragon aspect isn't overdone, they don't have super powers and ones that can breathe fire are actually considered disadvtangeous because you can ballista them to death when they're immobile. No major magic aspect as well.

Biggest flaw with it is that while MC has several harem candidates because of his unstable position (identity theft) he refuses to let relationships go anywhere up to current.

this is basically just a self centered MC, he does save some people here and there but for his own personal benefit (cough sex cough)
