Higurashi wasn't on K. Saimoe selection period. Neither Utawarerumono, School Rumble Ni Gakki, Ouran among others, so I'm guessing it started in Fall 2006.

I think this is a real test for the HnG faction. Are they organized and coordinated enough to push Izumi past Shana? If they can do this, then they've effectively taken full control of Block A, as well as ensuring Nagi gets pretty much a free trip to the elite eight.

Even if they don't succeed in pushing Izumi through..it'll be nice for Izumi to give Shana a good fight. A little warmup before Nagi comes her way. Gogo Izumi!

I've been working on this, but I'm having a difficult time deciphering some of the kanji as written. If someone more knowledgeable could give it a shot...

属性 (not sure how to translate this... "attribute"? Effectively "moe attribute," with thanks to hchuang; the character's basic moe archetype)--
Shana: ツンデレ (tsundere)
Izumi: 天然 (ten'nen - see below)
Konoka: 天然 (ten'nen)
C.C.: 魔女 ("majo" - witch)

超必殺技 (super special move)--
Shana: メロンパンブレイク ("Melonpan Break," D, D/F, F, P)
Izumi: 美希、理沙召喚 「ざ・生徒会役員」 ("Summon Miki and Risa [the Student Council Officers]," D, D, P)
Konoka: アーティファクト / 東風の檜扇 (Artifact / "Fan of the Eastern Wind," F, D, D/F, K), her Pactio ability
C.C.: ゼロ召喚 ("Summon Zero," D, B, D/B, P)

必殺技 (special move)--
Shana: 第二期放送 indicates it's something about the second season's broadcast, but I can't figure out the last two characters. (D, D/B, B, K)
Izumi: マゾヒスト ("Masochist," B, D, D/B, P)
Konoka:　せっちゃん召還 ("Recall Secchan [Setsuna]," D, D, P)
C.C.: ルルーシュ召喚 ("Summon Lelouch," D, D, P)

N: 攻撃力 - Attack power
NE: I don't know what this is supposed to be. I'm reading it as 起動力--is that wrong? Defense power would be 防御力 or something.
SE: スタミナ - Stamina

Izumi's stats--
S: マゾ力 - 'Masochist power,' as Izumi kind of likes to be teased.
SW: 笑顔 - 'Smile,' and she does have a beaming one.
NW: 天然 - A rehash of the first line. I think this is shorthand for 天然ボケ or 天然キャラ, meaning someone with an airheaded personality.

Shana's stats--
S: クギ力 - As Psieye says, this might refer to Shana's VA, Kugimiya Rie.
SW: 胸 - Chest size. Critical miss!
NW: カリモフ - Functionally this is 'melonpan eating,' though I think it's literally onomatopoeia for the two textures of melonpan. Here's a visual aid:



'karikari' and 'mofumofu' describe melonpan's crispy and soft parts.

Konoka's stats--
S: 魔法力 - Magic power
SW: ベホマ係 - Behoma-kei, a healing spell from the DQ series. (thanks, pomps!)
NW: 百合 - Well, yuri. With Setsuna as backup...

I wonder why it has to be melonpan?I think other kind of pan would suit Shana better other than melonpan. Probably a nikuman?Or Mame Daifuku?Or Taiyaki?

Melonpan is actually pretty good for an individually packaged pastry. The version that I tried, however, isn't crunch on the outside. My sister really likes the stuff though. Every time I go to the local Mitsuwa, she always asks me to get some.

I prefer taiyaki, especially if it's freshly made. With the frozen brands, I usually microwave it before toasting.

I've lost drive for this match. Whoever wins, we win. I guess I'll vote Shana for the variety, plus the chance to go "lol same person" when she faces off against Nagi.

In the meantime, the lack of Isumi sigs has left me in despair. But I have plenty of images to throw together a bootleg one...
