Although I do realized that it was a very emotional incident for the Iraqi journalist and the people of Iraq, but I couldn't help laugh at the incident. It was rather funny.. It gives the impression, "Nice one!!".

I have to say this was one of Bush's best moments. I never knew that he had such dexterity/agility, especially for his age. The way he dodged that shoe was very impressive, especially considering that the reporter was so close to the actual podium. Bush has got skillz.

If i were a president I don't think i would want to be remembered on my last month of office as the "President who dodged a WMD shoe..."

Indeed. In the history of manly accomplishments by chief of states, I still think it puts him far behind Putin shooting a tiger.

^Putin is like a black belt in judo or jujitsu...Not only would he have dodged the shoe, he would have come outta the dodge with a right hand chop of death which woulda vaporized the shoe into materialized particles...Then, when the reporter goes for the second shoe, by the time he threw it Putin would have already charged him head on (Took the shoe to the head point blank for rage-ignition ), then choked him out back-alley KGB style within an inch of his life...All on live TV mind you, then probably meat-rack the dude (like that tiger) on the underground-tip later on...

I'd like to see Putin dodge Russia's huge economic turmoil. Bush is dodging America's quite nicely by leaving Washington come January.

I was listening to an interview with John Hodgeman, funnyman from the Daily Show. He hadn't seen the video and watched it, but his reaction was pretty serious. He was thinking along the lines of, that split second was probably terrifying for Bush before he realized it was a shoe, I mean, a sudden commotion and movement like that, he probably thought it was a lot worse than a shoe.

With that being said, the guy has good reflex. I mean, his dodge was so clean

Indeed. Jokes aside (however well-deserved they may be), I don't think anyone would be laughing right now if Bush had indeed been injured, or worse, killed in a surprise attack.

I won't be surprised if he was scared. Just four years ago, he dodged something even more life-threatening: a live grenade.

Georgian gets life sentence for Bush attack
Quote:
Tblisi, Georgia (Jan 11, 2006): A Georgian man has been sentenced to life in prison for throwing a grenade at a rally attended by US President George W. Bush in Tbilisi last May. Vladimir Arutyunian was found guilty on charges including terrorism, treason, attempted assassination and the killing of a police officer, the judge said.

The grenade landed 30m (100ft) from Mr Bush and the Georgian leader, who were standing behind bullet-proof glass. It failed to go off because of a malfunction, said United States officials. The security scare marred Mr Bush's visit last May, which was aimed at showing support for President Mikhail Saakashvili's government, correspondents say.

Hmm~, Bush really seems to have a bad reputation with some people...
Well, I don't know or care anything about politics, so I personal don't hate the guy nor find him a bad president or whatever.

...Mmm... Nice dodge indeed. Nice reaction afterwards too...

Which is the perfect ingredient for not understanding how underachieving this guy was as a President (and that's being extremely nice)...If he acted as quickly to Bin Laden, or The economic crash, or Hurricane Katrina (which I experienced and lived through), if he moved on that $hit like he moved away from that pair of Iraqi Sketchers maybe you would have cared enuff about politics to see why people look down and ignore the leadership of this man so much...
