Apparently Busou's meant to be a sequel to the mangaka's previous work, Shinakoi, which also featured teen martial artists fighting each other in various street fights. Similar to the Negima manga, some characters and plot points from Shinakoi were tied to Busou's plot in the later chapters.
Whether the anime will go that far though... Also, the martial arts used by the girls are real Japanese martial arts moves. For example, Rin's style, the Kashima Shinden Jikishinkage-ryū: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kashim...nkage-ry%C5%AB Not only did the writer research the moves, he's apparently a practising martial artist himself. |

Episode 2:
Hmm, so the girls at the school still don't show much respect for Fudou. No surprise there considering the first impressions he's shown. Amou's reaction with the aftermath of their "kiss" is priceless. I think she's showing more of her girly side even more now. I find the blonde drill hair girl to be annoying. Such a weird name too...Chouka U Baragasaki? Really? .... The fight was actually flashy, not bad but I'm guessing those two girls who fought Fudou won't be relevant anymore.

It was a nice episode despite being one of those parts in the manga filled with annoying characters. Fudou knows how to deal with those type of girls tho, truly based.
We really need more Amou in our lifes, how can others even compete against her? Also drills a shit. |

I'm liking the MC alot, Fudo doesn't take crap from the girls lying down.
LOL nice lampshade about whips being impractical. Though there are whip-like weapons used in combat, the one drills uses isn't one of those.

Hah, Nomura's just awesome, he's chill as fuck. Casually walking into Rin's room, no blushing or countless apologizing for seeing a girl in her pijamas or any of that BS. Rin's response ain't as overly exaggerated as one would expect from these types of shows either ~ she looks like she's getting used to him.

Busou Shoujo Machiavellianism
I. The Magnificient Blade, Rin Onigawara
It's been a long, long while since I picked-up a show after I started to read the manga. In fact, if I recall correctly I began reading Busou Shoujo Machiavellianism at the beginning of this year out of chance. After reading the premise, I thought at first this title would play on similar themes like Prison School. Thankfully, however, after going through the first chapter of the manga that wasn't the case. Busou Shoujo Machiavellianism is a martial-arts, comedy at its finest, although matches tend to swing on a serious mood until Nomura delivers his one-liners or an embarrassing gag arises to complicate further the misunderstanding. While I'm glad the first episode of the anime adapted fully the first manga chapter even as to keep the jokes and one-liners intact, nevertheless, I felt the execution of the match in-between Nomura against Rin was bland or shabby, perhaps due to the animation effects. Still, the first episode did an acceptable job at adapting Nomura's first day at his new school and match against Rin. |

Episode 3
Meh, this episode felt really similar to the previous one. Nomura takes on the other blonde girl, aka Mary. The fight itself was poorly done imo, wasn't really impressed by it at all. The delusions aside, it was slightly amusing to see him get the advantage over his opponent in the end. The one important part about the episode is how we learn a little bit more about Kirukiru Amou. Hope to see her fight soon in the present timeline...
