Well, we do know (I mean, it seemed like it was obvious to me) that Ein is Scythe's sex toy among other things, but that doesn't really seem like Scythe.

Quick spoiler summary of 16, for those who can't wait. Those who can, should.

Spoiler:

o Claudia takes the initiative and breaks the standoff by shooting Wisemel, fingering him for the attacks on the Godoh Group. Via phone she confirms (afterwards!) that the attacking sniper was Wisemel's right-hand man.

o Reiji drives off and dumps the 5 millions that Cal stole in Wisemel's villa, to complete framing him for the attack.

o Essentially, Claudia's gamble paid off again. With Wisemel gone and the Godoh Group now affiliated with Inferno, her position is stronger than ever.

o In a nightclub, Reiji tells Lizzie that there was another unknown sniper who shot, but he doesn't know who.

o Reiji wants to stop training Cal as hitman, since he wants to keep her out of this twilight world.

o Cal is scared to death that now - with Judy avenged - their time together will end. Instead, Reiji suggests that she could continue as maid.

o However, this alone doesn't quite do. Cal confesses to Reiji that she really REALLY wants to be with him. Reiji is torn, and they struggle with their feelings a bit, but eventually Reiji gives in.

o Scythe master fingers Reiji as murderer of Muroto (via carefully selected photo from the crime scene), leading to a seething Shiga who vows revenge.

o Reiji is called to the harbor by Lizzie (who, as we see after the call, was held at gunpoint by the Godoh Group plus goons). In other words, he's headed for a trap.

o End of episode. The preview shows a battle in the harbor, and a confrontation between Reiji and Elen. Preview talk is from Elen who insists that she is Ein - not Elen...

At the current speed, the second chapter will be concluded in 2 episodes.

I watched it on the nantokadoga streaming site, which has comments like nico, and the scene after he agreed to let her stay with him had the comment "afterwards," implying what you're imagining.

Cal was begging him to let her stay with him from inside the shower, with him outside the open bathroom door but not looking in. When he agreed, she stood up and pulled the shower curtain aside. And he walked around the corner and looked straight in. The next scene was him sitting fully dressed at the foot of one bed, and her asleep on the other, probably the next morning.

In a previous scene, when they were both lying in their beds, she got up and slipped in with him, back to back. Just in case, let's say she's over 16, which I believe is legal age for this in Japan. Of course, the show is set in the US....

Great episode, promising bad things ahead. Reiji did tell Cal that Isaac was the one who caused her friend's death, and he's dead, so perhaps the danger of Cal and Elen fighting it out is gone. But perhaps not.

He certainly doesn't look it (he looks at least 17) but if that is the official age, and given pretty much anyone agree that Cal is younger than him, then 14 is totally reasonable.

anyway great episode. Cal as cute as ever in this episode- a nekomimi!!

when cal slip in to Reiji I went aww on that scene. I truly enjoy the characterization in this episode. Rarely you could really enjoy an anime when the character just "interact" with each other.

That to be said but the thing that I most waiting for is Elen and Reiji reunion next episode, Damn Elen looks really hot on that last scene

I'm not sure if this was mentioned in the anime, but in the original story, Reiji's trip to America was a junior high graduation present. So yeah, he'd be 15 years old.

IIRC, Cal is a year younger, despite her prepubescent appearance.

I never would have guessed that Claudia would resolve things by shooting Wisemel. Definitely don't look down on this deadly chick

I also didn't expect SM to pull such a dirty trick himself in the end by framing Reiji for being the one who killed one of Godoh's henchmen in the hotel. When the heck did he take that picture!

And once again it is Lizzie who is caught and forced to betray her "pals". My gosh how useless can you be...

Cal and Reiji's bonding moments are as cute as ever and Cal even broke out her nekomimi meido mode...whaaa

I totally have no idea what is going to happen next, but the chances of Ein not dying before the end of the series is pretty slim...since now Reiji has traded Cal for his past attachment.
