Hmm, the anime will have 16 episodes 13+(3) and not 10. The anime will cover all the novel up to Volume 12 which will release early June. No season 3 mate!!!

i thought they said it'll be upto episode 10 only? And they'll end it simultaneously with the novel? The last volume will be released in June, if i remember correctly, that's why i thought i'll really only be 10 episodes. But oh well, IF so, there goes my hopes and dreams, i'll just enjoy it while it lasts. XD no matter what happens, imma be a KuronekoXKyousuke shipper til the end. lol. I'm even hoping they get back together in the novel, which i know, is very less likely. >.<

I wonder if some of this clumsiness is the legacy of a history of arranged marriages and the inside/outside dimension of relationships in culture and language. The typical approach to courtship, as seen in anime, on the male side seems to border on stalking, as various boys collect "data" on girls.
I get the feel that from, say middle school onwards, there are these two parallel societies of boys and girls which finally connect when formal dating begins. On the other hand, things like clubs and class responsibilities do cause the sexes to mix somewhat. I think of Karekano as a case where two dedicated overachievers are brought together in the context of working together at school. Kuroneko seems cuter to me in this context having made elaborate plans, and being willing to admit to it. It's nice to see a girl showing some initiative in a positive sense. By contrast, Ayase's relationship to him seems more like a minefield. She anticipates all the bad things that Kyousuke might do, and sort of makes them into self-fullfilling prophecies. This is good for comedy but bad for actual romance.

I personally loved the episode. One of the cutest i have seen in awhile. i felt like a hug was definitely missing but im sure it will happen soon enough. I died on the boobs scene but i also though this was a weird scene and it was funny.

I thought this episode was the funniest of the entire series so far. The scene where Kyousuke repeatedly bangs his head against the wall out of sheer excitement/anxiety was hilariously random (though the brief flashback of Kirino doing the same thing seemed a little out-of-place to me), while the scene in the clubroom managed to get off two or three jokes without overdoing it too much. One thing I especially liked during that part was how, when the conversation turned to breasts, Kyousuke's eyes lingered on Kuroneko's chest. I thought that was some well-placed physical humour.
I enjoy Kyousuke when he's being the straight man, but I think I enjoy him more when he's having his more eccentric moments. As far as the pacing of the episode goes, I got the feeling it was rushed as they included several important scenes from the novel without giving too much time to them. Of course, we don't get the benefit of Kyousuke's own thoughts padding out the time, but this episode seemed to favour comedy over character reflection, perhaps as a form of reprieve after the drama from the last couple of episodes. I'm impartial as far the Kyousuke/Kuroneko pairing goes. I don't find their interactions to be all that interesting, but there's a certain charm to them in that it's quite a normal relationship, at least in comparison to the other dynamics in the show. |

So no, this change really doesn't alter anything about Kyousuke's character at all, and isn't really a bad thing. I think you're just juxtaposing things in a rather extreme way to make it seem like a judgement call when it really wasn't when put in context.

This is the first episode for this series in forever where everyone was pleasant and had some semblance of sanity. I think that's an achievement. Even more longer was a legitimately funny scene with Kirino and Kyousuke. Granted, I won't lie, I've been fast forwarding through some episodes, but I never said I was fair.
And of course, Kuroneko going home to her pillow was hilarious-- her brief transformation back to kuroneko But yea, it looks like they're having fun.

Good ep overall. I rather enjoyed the sight of Kirino banging herself had at the thought of going on a date with her bro, taking on the role of all the heroines she's tried to bone. And Kuroneko rolling around on the floor was even better.
As for Kyousuke's concern, I for one am of the mind that it's not ok until the wedding night IRL(I'm a bit of a purist), but for anime it's cool even if you just met. |
