I'm ok with these aliens. Obviously they're nothing like the ELS, so it'll be cool to see someone else's view on aliens. Going from the one image we got, they have a kaiju-ish look to them. Another plus, I gotta say my view on the show is changing.

I was actually referring to the inevitable uproar that "Gundam has turned into Macross".

So why do people fight, anyway?
Perhaps the meaning of existence lies within their will to fight.
People feel a sense of accomplishment through battle.
And it’s also a fact that the ones actually fighting are never perceived as being tainted.

They look more like giant ravenous beasts. The dinosaur thingie don't look like something that can pilot a mobile suit.

Of course it could be argued that Guin Sard Lineford was the captain of the Will Gem and was a hero for most of Turn A so that would only puts it back at over 12 years ago in 1999 with Murrue, Talia, Sumeragi and Kati following since then.
Now that you mention it....

True. They could still end up having MS of some kind though.

Let's keep in mind that it's just as entirely possible that these aliens are humans in disguise or some other twist like that. Remember, "Celestial Being are the aliens" too.

I don't think this is the type of show that runs on twists.

So the Gundam Age's gimmick is to...age?

The whole cast age and is replaced with newer generations. Honestly the only thing I'm excited about is fighting against alien grunts in Gundam ExVS (if they port him into that game).

*cough* Madoka *cough*.

I think I'm getting used to the designs. It doesn't feel that's bad compare to first time I saw it. The characters are fine if you think it's something like Dendoh.

And the whole alien thing just make it's easier to appear in SRW.

You guys can be all mature and "with-it" and $hit but this sucks...Especially given the fact they just did a SD Gundam which I might be the only person on this side of the hemisphere that sorta enjoyed it (see my avy LuBu)...

To see kids using Gundams as rockem sockem robots that might be a mere extension of their ipads is $hitty...As a true Gundam Enthusiast i won't rake it over the coals yet, but I equally won't pretend to be all even keel and optimistic...I have no desire to get caught up in the pre-production because of the content matter, which takes a huge chunk out of the fun...

I'll watch it, and if it's good I'll acknowledge it, but it's kiddie $hit...When I watched Gundam Wing as a kid that wasn't kiddie $hit (Not for westeros), so I fail to see how this will do anything but attract kids by placating them as opposed to letting them see if they like an established product...It is what it is though...Maybe this is what happens after Silver Setsuna is shat out of that Lilly...

Claiming a show is for kids while using expletives in such a fashion doesn't strike me as particularly mature nor adult.

And the thing about Gundam AGE is that asides from all the 'kids' connections... we just don't know anything about it yet. We don't know the tone of its story, how the story will be handled, what other themes it's supposed to handle. Everything it still too early at this point in time to see how the show will end up, so nothing can be said with any certainty. It's not like shows made for kids in Japan haven't ended up being entertaining and even appealing to adults as well... look at one of the best examples of this, GaoGaiGar or hell many of the Brave series, which had themes and portrayals that sometimes seem like they don't belong in a kids show. And Gundam itself had long been marketed for kids, but got the appeal of adults due to the story... which we know nothing about as of this moment for AGE asides from the general synopsis.

It's why I'm withholding judgment on the whole thing for now, because this thing can still go in all manner of directions we don't know about.
