I haven't read the books. Are there any hints that the incest taboo is less strict in the books?
The ancient Egyptians practiced incest, especially the royals. Even today, first cousin marriages are acceptable in many places. It takes place in a fantasy world and all. |

That's cool - but please bear in mind that you should treat this thread as if it were an anime based on a VN or manga, etc. That means no book spoilers, even in spoiler tags (never mind unmarked). All of us will be happier that way.

Please remember that future spoilers and hints are disallowed in this thread. You can still compare and contrast the book and tv series, especially to point out scenes that have been lost in translation (use spoiler tags for this), but specific info as to future events are prohibited.
It hasn't really been mentioned yet. But, considering Jaime's reaction (i.e. Bran + seeing Twincest = cripple), I'd guess it is frowned upon... |

ep.6 was epic!!! That exiled princess turned really quickly from a scarred little girl into a real woman, that scene with the ritual was just epic as was her brother's crowning
As for the twist, I kind of waited it, makes a lot of sense given what we've seen this far. He I don't expect the king to have 5 kingdoms for very long And by the way, something I missed, that old guy accompanying the king, wearing the same armour as Jamie, is a Lanister? Their father probably not |

Oh Arya, you are so effortlessly cute.
Oh Sansa, you're pretend fantasy worlds are undoubtedly going to lead to your death or something far worse (marriage to Joffery). Spoiler for ep. 6...:
That being said, despite a strong story, the actors didn't have their usual room to move around. Besides Harry Lloyd and Emilia Clarke, there really weren't any standout performances for me this episode. Still, great story, and all the characters/actors are still fun and interesting. 85/100. |

Another great episode in my mind. I'm a little disappointed though, because this episode pretty much cements my worry that they would downplay the wolves of the stark children. That scene with rob, theon, and bran is totally different in the books.
Spoiler for how it happens in the books:
I hope they aren't just trying to avoid the bad publicity that comes with making wolves out as dangerous.
