This episode is entertaining and Natsuki-chan is enough reason for me to continue watching it. Next episode. It looks like a new kenjuu will be born/awaken.

The translator says they'll definitely translate all of vol 7-8 of STB, although they are also handling another LN plus real-life responsibilities.

Oh, I wasn't bitching or anything. It always annoys me when people poke the translator and yell about how it's slow or whatever. Just sadness that it was slow. If they're working on it, s'cool.

I felt there was an abnormal amount of harem antics this week compared to the previous episodes despite seriousness of this arc. Like almost every 3 minutes until Aya showed up.

On that note why Asagi suddenly so embarrassed for Kojou to see her naked? Did forget she just she just stripped willingly in front him? IF anything I had expected her advantage of the situation, not go back to playing coy again. -_-

Well anyway, with most of inmates defeated I guess next week is going to be finale. I kinda thought these notorious criminals would have be a little stronger than then this were given how hyped their were. Only the Big Sword Guy seemed like any major threat while the others could have been taken by the rest of cast. Maybe Natsuki's magic was still sapping their powers.

Maw, do take a look at the LN thread when the anime finishes airing. It should clear a lot of things up.

Oh I definitely intended to do so once the series finished. I only avoided that thread because of your posts here in first place.

I don't want to get depressed at another adaptation because I know how things are in the original work.

Well they are doing an okay job at adapting the LN. A lot of scenes & dialogues were cut that could have make the show much better. The fight scenes were longer in the LN too. But at least they didn't change the story completely to a point where it's impossible to make a second season *cough* Campione! *cough*.

Pardon my lack of understanding in regards to Blu-Ray sales, but is that good ?

All in all, I have to say I enjoyed episode 18, even if it was a bit more of a "breather" episode in a very tense arc.

I can't say I was expecting Vatler to be surrounded by men evidently of the other persuasion. Or that one of them would start crushing on Kojou while the other would be jealous of all the attention Vatler gives him .

Though apparently Vatler's "affection" towards Kojou is only because of his potential as a Fourth Progenitor and the possibility of being a fearsome opponent, rather than as a genuine love interest. I wonder if it was the same for Avrora, and that the two of them were never truly lovers?

Vatler's words in regards to what will happen when Kojou awakens all his Familiars and truly becomes the Fourth Progenitor was quite foreboding. Then again, he doesn't actually have all of Avrora's Familiars so I assume we're still a ways off from that happening .

Though I'm curious to see if what he said to Yukina will cause her to start questioning her true mission in future arcs?

I really have to wonder if she intentionally created it like that, or if it was all just by accident. Honestly, I wouldn't mind seeing it again in the future .

I felt Kojou and Asagi had some nice scenes together in this episode. In vain though it may be, I really have to give the girl credit for her forwardness and appreciate her colorful commentary in regards to the craziness going on around her. She also looks great in a yukata .

Finally, a new Familiar! It's about time. Can't wait to see which girl he bites to get # 4 .

Well, in fairness, Kojou was looking away while she was stripping .

At least she didn't slap him when he got a good gander at her .

And in Kojou's defense regarding his still keeping it a secret from Asagi, I can perfectly understand why Kojou would not tell her the truth. He's afraid that her finding out that he's a vampire, and a legendary one to boot, will irrevocably change their relationship and possibly make her see him as someone different, not the normal high-school student Akatsuki Kojou that she's been friends with.

And y'know, this has been bothering me since this arc began... where the heck is Yaze ?

Seriously, I was expecting Kojou to finally tell Asagi everything. But, no. Natsuki-chan's awesome back-up personality (not being sarcastic here. Natsuki's back-up personality, like her original personality, is pretty fun and awesome) just had to awaken.

Whatever he may think she's asked him directly about it multiple times, she's been caught up more than once (even to his knowledge) in the various extra-normal events surrounding him, and most importantly she's a good friend who deserves better than to keep being deceived by him. She's asked to know, she's earned the right to know, and she deserves to know. It irritates me greatly how he keeps pushing her out of the loop.

Since Yukina's been kidnapped to play the distressed damsel, she may end up being the blood donor again. Frankly, that would be safer. You may remember Yuuma kind of being in critical condition? I'm not sure being bitten by a vampire would be good for her right now...

Of course, I'm personally hoping for it to be Natsuki, just because I want her to officially join the harem.

Its probly Yuumas turn, so far its been a new girl for each Kenjuu, and it didnt show her in the lab which means shes up and about.

As anime viewer I feel the show has presented it self quite well despite it's issues overall. I kinda like to maintain that view. i don't it's necessary for an adaptation to include everything (in fact it can't) but as long as things remain consistent and events flow naturally then I'm good for the most part.

I started to re-watch the show. i have to say - there are definite pacing issues, but they are a lot less prevalent when you can watch an entire arc in one sitting

Still sad about Asagi.
